You know I went in that Zara (@ the Galleria) and i noticed that the prices in the US are a little more expensive than Europe

..to cover the costs of import duty :flower:

I have one jacket from Zara from Summer 03 which I absolutely adore and it receives lots of compliments. However, since then I haven't found anything that lives up to it. I definitely agree with the complaints regarding the fit. They need to broaden their sizing in all their ranges not just a few - in a lot of the pieces they only do Medium and Large. Their jeans aren't so hot either. And one more grumble, when they do super cheap Chloesque tops for around 29.99 Euros they are mostly dry clean only which IMO doesn't make sense here in France where dry cleaning is extortionate. Don't mind dry cleaning high end items, but I prefer hand washing or delicate cycle for cheapo pieces.

Zara sizing is interesting..
My skirt is M but it's still lil wide on my waist even most of my clothes are M, sometimes L. But my teacher, who's a 150cm "tall", approx 40kg very very thin japanese, found a coat that fits her perfectly... What size is it? XXXXXXXS?

Blah. I don't like Zara. Maybe it's the Zara here which is crap but..I only find it okay for basics like white tees, shirts, etc.
BUT I can rarely get anything because 'S' is too big on me. Size S shirts are like 2 sizes too big. And they still have some boho pieces last time I checked..and..well..I just don't like Zara.
I prefer H&M.

Mmm.. yeah... i like Zara, but it happens i feel the same.. Lot of their clothes i dislike especially cause bad quality fabric.. like... sometimes even my duster has better quality (it's not only Zara by the way.. :innocent:). But there are some good pieces in every season i always buy and later i never feel i should have left it there. ^_^

it may seem obvious but the quality is awful- what's the point of 'good' design if the fabric itches....

I wish I could go more often to this store but theirs only one in Houston and its like an hour away from my house and the traffic in galleria is horrible.
But I love this place. The sweaters are amazing, their white shirts are perfect for my body, and right about everything is cheap and good quality. I think next week i will pay a visit to this shop and try to start building up my spring wardrobe.

I used to find so much great stuff in Zara about 3 years ago...I got a gorgeous white jacket I still wear today! But lately the designs and quality haven't been impressive...

i love ZARA!!!! it´s really my favourite shop.....i think they have great stuff but for my low budget its still a bit expansive sometimes.....

I just came back from my Spring Break in London and the only place I ended up spending money was Zara! Of course, I didn't have that much to begin with. Anyways, I bought a couple of really lovely outfits (total Spring 06 knock offs)!! I only wish they had one here in Chicago, though I suppose it is good that they're not all over the place here in the US because EVERYONE would wear it.

The quality isn't that fantastic for the price but the looks are totally worth it in my opinion  There sizing is a bit strange though, as I bought 3 different bottoms: size 4 shorts, size 6 shorts, a 'medium' skirt & size 8 cropped jeans:blink:

Overall though it is one of my favorite stores ever! I'd give anything to go back there with more money!

I'm obsessed with ZARA, maybe the quality isn't always that good.. But if you search really well, you can get some nice stuff.. the same goes for H&M BTW.

I always find nice pants there, but the jeans I can't seem to fit into. The sizes are really weird, I'm glad I'm not the only one who has ZARA size problems, I was starting to think it was just me...

Zara is Spanish
It's very populair in Europe
I often buy jeans there, because there so cheap :p

Honestly I think Zara's quality is slightly better than H&M:blink:
I'm not saying it's great though!

I just went to Zara yesterday, and wanted to buy everything I saw. I like it so much, other cheap stores, H&M and Mango for example, never get me excited like this.

But yes, the quality is poor. I don't have much money, and it makes me crazy when I buy something from there and it becomes unwearable in a couple weeks time. And their sizing is confusing.

I live in constant fear every time I purchase their products.

zara sucks !! there i said it. like H & M, Gap, or Starbucks, it's the Mc Donalds of fashion. From L.A to Kuala Lumpur, the same exact clothing will be found... a mere selection of what's supposed to be "in trend"... it's alsmost a dictaturship of fashion.. it's scary!

But the mass love it because it's cheap and knocks off whats in the latest Vogue, but the quality is so bad. last time i was there, i even got the SA to admit it, after i tried on a shirt in the fitting room and TWO buttons just popped off.

so screw zara, i preffer to get quality and pesonality over quantity.

i will give them credit for their speed on picking up trends, that article about their worldwide "street team" was interesting... and I can see why it's a hit in the US, because apart from NYC, good european design is so hard to find.
But here in Paris, Zara is only for cheapskates..

I agree. I also prefer Zara's designs. In my opinion H&M can look pretty desperate and hipster.

I'm sad to hear that Zara's clothes wear out quickly :( I'll have to dry clean mine. Luckily, my shirt came with extra buttons too;)

zara is much more expensive in the us. I bought a lot of stuff when I went back home in France and when I came back in the us, I noticed than many pieces (especially shoes) were up to 100% more expensive.
I love zara because it actually fits me pretty ( as that's probably why it doesn't fit a lot of people :p ). Their pants are so long so I buy most of my pants there. I buy different sizes, I think the 'zara woman' section runs bigger than the 'trf 'section, the very cheap and basic section also seems to run smaller than the 'expensive' woman section.
