Zara

Small sizes always run out super fast. Everytime I get there all the stuff that I'm interested in is only left in large sizes. Some items only come in mediums and are far too big for me then.

I find that the mediums tend to run on the large side of medium.

I forget who mentioned Zara kids but its the way to go as far as jackets. I bought one of those awful mangy faux fur vests for 22euros or something super cheap. And if I weren't leaving Paris in less than a week with no room in my suitcase I would've bought some jackets. SO CHEAP.

I also bought a faux fur vest from the Kids collection. It was even on sale so I only paid 14€. Cannot beat that.

I just bought a leather coat from Zara like 2 weeks ago...beautiful!!! Its the second one i got from them...and its affordable i think, 200$ ...i wear my leather jackets religiously soo its worth the investment

Did you get the one with the two pockets on the chest? If so, I got the same one!! How did you find the sizing? I'm still contemplating whether or not to keep it. I've wanted a leather jacket for awhile but can't decide. I'm utilizing their 30 day return policy to the fullest until I decide :p The size M was a bit roomy at the shoulders but I'd want to be able to wear it over a hoodie or something. Anyway, I agree and love the fact that they're affordable ^_^

Hm, I´ve managed to go to Zara without buying anything the last couple of times I went shopping! What´s happening? I tried on the grey dress with the ruffles that TheItGirl wore - it didn´t suit me that well. I spotted some great jackets though. Could I get awat with it and buy my 4th winter jacket this year? Hehe. :innocent:

I´m rather excited to see what will be on sale this year. I usually find some great stuff.

This sounds odd, but I've noticed that the Zara shop in Århus is quite dirty. As in they never seem to clean it.

^hehe. And I´m going crazy about the SA. Some of them just seem sooooo tired of working there. No smiles or service. Hm.

^I know...wonder why? Maybe they spend all their money buying all the small sizes and therefore they are depressed?

^haha. Maybe you´re right. But as you know, I´m Queen of Zara so I´m optimistic about finding some good stuff on sale.
I have to go to bed. Sleep tight.

There are so many Zara's where I live, I know several girls who have worked there; it's one of the most exhausting clothing stores you can work in. From what I understand of their training, the emphasis is not on customer service but on practical matters, such as the proper way to fold clothes. The SA's role is mainly to tidy up after you, not to assist you as a stylist or even to have much contact with you at all. Having said that, it is expected that any SA will be polite and accomodating if approached, so if you have a truly unpleasant experience, that is totally not normal.

If they would at least do their job and folding clothing but from what I see in my Zara there is nothing like that. Most of the time the store is like a big mess. Not in the evening, it already started in around lunch time with all the mess. I heard that Zara SA get extra money if they stay longer in the store after closing time to tidy up the store by folding clothing at get everything there it should be. That would be an explanation why they left the store in such a crappy mess.
But honestly, no matter if the are only trained to tidy up and not to be a "stylist" I except from every store that SA are customer friendly to be and help me out to find a certain piece in a different size if I'm asking and not just look at me in an arrogant way to told me "not only what you can see". I have been in many Zara and that seems to be a phenomenon that most of the Zara SA act like that way.
Honestly, I completely lost my mood to walk into that store lately. It's not worty at all if people treat you like crap and you know that your money with which you buy Zara clothes is part of their paychecks.

I think it depends on the cities. But Fruchtzwerg, you're from Stuttgart aswell, aren't you? I thought I read that somewhere... Well, then I agree with you on that issue. The store is a horrible mess!

Dudes, speaking as an ex-employee of Inditex, I gotta ask, do you not think you are being a little harsh on SA's? Zaras are obviously understaffed, keeping clothes on tables makes it much more difficult to keep tidy and SA's for Inditex are not paid alot relative to the same job in other companies. I can totally support what GasolineRainbow says, it is one of the most exhausting places to work and many SA's are not trained at all, other than being given a store tour and an idea of how to replenish/put away stock! Also the overtime that is worked when the store is closed to get it tidy again, is often paid back in the hours you work (ie if you work 2hours extra today you can leave 2hours earlier tomorrow) so that when you do work you end up being in for longer than you are rostered for and your o.t. does not come back in your payslip.
Much as I love the clothes from Zara and other Inditex stores they are a company with serious issues..:ninja:

I think it's obvious that the company doesn't give sh!t about the employees, that is really too bad.

i've noticed that too. in my store, the shoes are often quite dusty, like they put them there month ago but never bothered to clean them afterwards....

Frankly I'm surprised that the stores would be dirty in Denmark and the U.K. and not in my country, which has a "dirtier" reputation. Obviously dumb stereotypes.

I do find Zara's to be very untidy though, and while this has to do with being understaffed and poorly trained/payed, the consumer mentality - OUR mentality - is also to blame. People wouldn't walk into high-end clothing stores and start flinging clothes around every which way, but they do it at Zara.

Take clothes with their designated hangers to the changing room, don't leave behind empty hangers. After trying on shoes, don't throw them back, place them upright. Obviously you don't have to refold clothes, but place them neatly next to the folded pile. Or if you've been walking around with an item and decide not to purchase it, hang it back on the rack you found it on, not some random rack in the store.

It's basic courtesy, not at all difficult, and if more people did it, both you as a shopper and the SA's would benefit.

I'm going shopping tomorrow, and hopefully pick up a hoody with fur inside and in the hood. I love it :buzz:
