Which is exactly why I said Outside of the few scifi films she keeps getting hired for, she's just another Kate Bosworth.... The few films she's been in, Avatar and Star Trek have been box office smashes but not because of her name. She's known more so for her fashion. Just like Bosworth and Alba though Zoe was never outright called one of the "mocktresses" in that one article that roamed around, as you point out. She just lucked out in getting Avatar which was the first real 3D immersion experience and Star Trek which is never NOT going to bring in huge numbers from a steady fanbase.
It's no surprise Zoe's filming a scifi Marvel film later this summer. But generally, the scifi genre is the most giving in hiring people of color to fill roles so, if it works, stick to it, Zoe!
Sorry but Zoe is no Kate Bosworth that's a major reach. I can't name a Kate Bosworth movie save for Blue Crush from a decade ago.
Zoe hasn't had any problem getting work outside of Sci-Fi. She was the lead female in Columbiana and "The Losers". Zoe works regularly with other A-listers in films. She did "The Words" with Bradley Cooper last year. She was just at Cannes promoting her film "Blood Ties" with Marion Cotillard. She's currently filming a movie with Mark Ruffalo and has the female lead in an upcoming movie called "Out of the Furnace" with Christian Bale.
If Zoe's supposedly only known for her fashion the industry is doing a poor job embracing her. Zoe has never been on the cover of Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle, or U.S. Bazaar.
