1940s Vintage Bonwit Teller 2 Pc. Wool Suit
A smartly tailored early 1940s vintage wool suit in a dark mahoghany brown & light blue windowpane tweed. This is labeled Bonwit Teller, Fifth Ave. New York. The jacket has a fitted, darted waist, substantially padded shoulders, multi buttoned front & front slit pockets. The jacket is also fully lined in russet colored satin fabric. The skirt has a banded waist with metal zippered side opening, inverted pleating for ease of movement and is unlined.

A 1940s era wool gabardine suit jacket in a dark grey with full length french cuffed sleeves and fitted hourglass line. Six same fabric buttons go all the way up to the neck. Lined in a dark mauve colored rayon crepe fabric with fully usable yet decorative breast & hip pockets.

This rayon gab ladies jacket is a head turning example a 40s era tailoring with a wonderful 2 tone grey & beige fabric, decorative buttons with finished buttonholes & full length cuffed sleeves. The sleeves are also set in with top stitching at the inverted shoulder seams and the collar is a simple fold over pointed design. The shoulders are mildly padded. Fitted marvelously through the body & lined in dark rose colored crepe. Labeled Swansdown, New York with a Steigers store label also.

The sleeves are puffed and full length with decorative, buttoned french cuffs & the coat opens with 3 large plastic buttons. The shoulders are rounded & padded and collar is dramatically pointed.
