Matchpoint..oh I hope it wins a hell lot.
It'd be cute to see Gwynnie win something - her or Scarlett.
how come jake isnt nominated?

I was actually a little upset with some of the noms.
Jake should have been nominated (I'd have replaced Russel Crowe w/ him)
Claire Danes was robbed for Shopgirl (I'd replace Sarah Jessica Parker w/ her)
Munich should have been in the best picture catagory.
Shopgirl, The Family Stone, should have been in the musical/comedy catagory. get rid of The Producers.

I know!

2 of his movies are nominated and he gets snubbed in both! What sense does that make?

Brokeback Mountain, Walk the Line, Crash and The Constant Gardner are my picks.

Oh and I'm sure King Kong will win something.

Well this is who I want to win. If anybody cares...
I haven't seen every movie though...
wish (prediction)

Crash or Brokeback Mountain - both deserve it

I'm amazed Jake wasn't nominated. :( His role may not have been as central as Heath's, but no doubt was just as pivotal. He'll get an oscar nomination thugh - for Brokeback or Jarhead, either way he'll get the recognition.

I highly doubt he'll get one for "Jarhead" since Sam Mendes (the director) isn't recieving any recognition. The best chance he has is "Brokeback Mountain."

what about for proof?

Yay for Mary Louise Parker, Wentie & Patrick Dempsey. I hope at least one of them walks out with an award.
I've quit watching Desperate Housewives... season 2 is so... boring/annoying.

he was great in proof but his roll didn't pack much punch... he'd be far more likely to get a supporting nod for brokeback than proof.

"Proof" was mostly centered around Gwyneth's character and Jake as the optimistic supporting guy, which knowing awards/nominations guilds/associations they wouldn't necessarily go for that...

I actually wouldn't be surprised if Gwyneth was getting an Oscar nomination for "Proof," seeing how she's on the cover of every magazine. (I still can't believe she is out promoting the movie on the cover of Allure.) The Weinstein brothers (the producers of the film) can surely market/advertise the heck out of their movies... that's the only explanation I have for "Cold Mountain" getting so many nominations and "Shakespeare In Love" for recieving so many wins...

I really dont think Gwyn is on the radar for the Oscar. The Golden Globes are such a celeb fest. Kinda not suprised she is on the covers- cant exactly put Dame Dench on the cover of Allure.

Can't believe Match Point got the nominations it did......it was abominably acted, with even more ridiculous dialogue. I haven't seen a stinker like that since..........see I don't even remember when.

What Gwyneth has been out using and abusing the same press she vilifies on a daily basis to get herself enough attention come Oscar time? I really find that woman to be of the worst brand of obnoxious.

Anyway, Oscar always goes with hype and sticks enough red herrings in to please some, but generally the people getting the big buzz right now, are the ones that'll be seen on the front rows come Oscar time.

Hear hear susie bubble!^_^
