2009 : Your Resolutions!

Not overly keen on resolutions so mine are slightly light hearted.
- Positive thinking.
- Stop neglecting tFS and spend more time on here :innocent:.

1. Write my first novel (or first two novels)
2. Read more
3. "Network"
4. Get my driver's license
5. Expand my wardrobe
6. Live less in the dream world and more in the real world
7. Find a boyfran'
8. Find a British boyfran'
9. Make that haunted house for Halloween that I have ALWAYS wanted to make.
10. Learn to cook

Resolutions for me are always more like goals..... or resolving what i didn't do last year.... hence i'm going to be more consistent with my exercise and save $.

* Do a graphic design course
* Read more books
* Buy more magazines (I've just start my collection)
* Spend more time here and make new friends...
I have to think more :flower:

  • Listen better.
  • Practice moderation.
  • Be more responsible with my finances.
  • Learn to speak a foreign language fluently.
  • Spend more time writing.
  • Exercise more/eat healthier (less refined sugar).
  • Become a better traveler.
  • Stand up straighter.
  • Think ahead.
  • Live well.

Keep interest in the things I'm doing, especially when they don't go as I planned them.
Exercise more.
Slow down on high-end stores..
Enjoy waking up early once and for all.
Quit the internet for a while...

I don't quite have a resolution this year, more like a quote I'll live by: "Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile", Ruslana Korshunova.

^I adore that quote, but I don't think it's entirely Ruslana's. I mean, it's partly hers - she's paraphrasing - but someone else said/wrote it. I would really like to know whose quote it is.

My style resolutions are simple but ambitious (the rest are ambitious, period):
- Wear heels unless very tired/ill, no other excuses allowed.
- Learn to walk gracefully in said heels.
- Stop biting nails once and for all.
- Splurge on silk nails following inevitable nail-biting relapse.

-budget money better
-work towards getting my own apt and escaping my roommate
-lose 25 lbs
-exercise outside and not at a gym
-stop letting boys use me
-learn a bit of french
-get more into DIY and personal projects like I did as a teen

MY main resolution is to not but anything that is purple, I realised the other day that half the tops in my wardrobe are purple....i'm not even a fan of purple :/

Also, buy less clothes altogether
Buy essentials/staples that will last for years
Budget better/ save more

Oh and the non fashion resolution is to learn to swim!!

5. Develop a personal style that is unique to me. Nothing flashy, trashy or trendy...just something that says 'me.' Like StellaMare mentioned, I'd like the create a wardrobe for myself that is unique and special. I want to shop at thrift stores and second hand shops more often, etc.
'Something that says me'
i like this :p me too!
for a long time i've felt i always wore someone else's clothes, and now i want to develop something more personal.. through specific colours, fabrics, style lines

-

other things for my resolution
  • have more variety at mealtimes :meow: try odd vegetables, exotic fruit and spice mixtures
  • be more independent! no more asking parents and siblings for help:rolleyes: say no to help! i need to see if i can survive completely on my own.
i guess i focus more on short-term/long-term goals than a 'yearly' goal or habit change

Also I want to not worry about my body when I chose clothes,i.e not picking clothes because they don't cover a certain part of my body, vice versa. Oh and to write in my diary every day,and not get bored and stop in April like usual :p

I love New year resolutions!
some of mine:

- get back to learning French
- read more books
- go to more new places
- start wearing dresses
- lose some weight (it's typical ny resoltion)
- eat more fruits and vegetables
- have more diverse style
- spend less time on the internet (it's a hard one)

Start wearing pants more.
Start playing tennis more.
Stop buying shoes.
Be nicer. :)

My style resolution is to not be afraid on spending a bit more on pieces I know I will wear until they fall apart (and spending a bit more for me usually means not buying things at thrift stores. what am I so afraid of? hmm..).
My other resolutions are to study more, be more outgoing, etc...average stuff I guess.

1. take more pictures this year!
2. only sleep as much as needed for health (that one was inspired by muhammad ali :woot:)

^I don't know what season it's from, but there's an episode of 'Friends' where Monica makes that very same resolution. Her perfectionist streak sets in, and she starts to do stuff like interrupt Rachel and Phoebe during an argument - "ok, smile!"

That's a good resolution though, I'm stealing it.

I need to pay more attention to the fit of clothes and buy mostly fitted things and not as many loose things. I need to invest in some cute accessories and bolder patterns. Instead of buying a bunch of styles I like and trying to do them all, I want to develop a more focused style and wear what I can pull off better than other people. All about relative advantage. I have econ in my head . . . I miss being in school. I can't wait for next sem.
