50 Book Challenge for 2011

Finished my second book, now onto the third...

01: American Subversive by David Goodwillie
02: The Collector by John Fowles
03: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Finished my first book, now I'm going to read I Am Number Four.

01. The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan
02. I Am Number Four

Finished 2 last night:

o1. Mistress Pat by L. M. Montgomery
o2. The Chimes by Charles Dickens

Now, working on a JFK biography and finishing the short stories book I mentioned in a previous post.. And I myself have a massive classic tome I'm working on: The Count of Monte Cristo. I started it last year but I'm only a 1/3 of the way through it.

my first book is taking forever because i also have to read Starting out with Python for school, and that's one thick book. and i hate programming, so it's not an enjoyable book. can't wait until that exam is over.

I know! It's almost the same with me..I don't have much time to read, but I try to make room for 1 hour reading every day.

I am currently reading a driving licence manual, does it count ?

Seriously, I'm still on Blonde by Joyce Carol Oates. already read 600 pages. Still around 500 pages to go...
I think i'll have to read a few plays to fulfill the challenge.
Or I'll read a book by David Lodge, it's always funny, and easy to read.

Everyone is doing so well! It really pumps me up to keep it up :D

Finished The Unbearable Lightness of Being last night, are we still going to post reviews? In any case (although I'm sure a lot of people have read it :p) I really loved the way Kundera put forth a number of interesting philosophical questions as inexorably linked to the characters in the story. His relationship to them is so deep that, even though I found myself angry at them quite often, I couldn't hate them for simply being human.

So that's one! Now I'm starting The Man in the High Castle by Philip K. Dick. Suuuuper stoked, I've been wanting to read this for ages and a friend lent it to me over the weekend! Anyway, my stats as of now are:

1. The Unbearable Lightness of Being - Milan Kundera

( -_- )

So long overdue, but I just finished Alices Adventures in Wonderland, and all i can say is that it was indeed a bit of an acid trip...

^I don't really like that book much, Alice is kind of boring. I guess some books just don't work for everybody. I have started to read three books at same time, I hope I can finish them too..
i've just finished the book "never let me go" by Kazuo Ishiguro in only two days !
Really love this

"Limit" is taking foreeeever to finish (still 600+ pages to go  ) and all my amazon orders are starting to come in so I'm really tempted to start sth else... but then I'll never be done with it. Ugh... :p

I'm going to join if that's ok! :)

01. Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

There's no way I'll hit 50 (where do you guys find the time?!) but damn it I'm going to try...:innocent: how much time, on average, do you all spend reading per day?

01. Saturday - Ian McEwan

haha i have no idea why i entered, but i'm gonna do the best i can! school is taking up so much of my time, this week i won't be able to read my book at all because i have an exam friday. but when i don't have to study my butt off for an exam, i usually read for 1 - 2 hours a day.

well i have to drive 30 min to uni by train, so that's 1 hour a day plus a little before i go to bed, but i gotta admit that there are way too many distrations at home (pc, tv, music) so i rarely read at home:ninja:

fashionista-ta: i love potf (i'm 'only' re-reading it, because i loved it so much. first time in german, now in english, still about 500 pages to go, but that's my fave part of the book)
