(500) Days of Summer

f--k it...i think i'm just going to watch it on the internet.
has anybody tried that yet?

I've been dying to see this movie (especially since the script was really good), but I don't think it's going to get a release here in our country. If anyone knows where I can watch it online, I'd appreciate it. :)

haha there you are again boutdesouffle!

Yes, her character did sort of bother me. I think they made downtown LA look the best it has EVER looked. it's still a little sketchy at night though :ninja:

I said the same thing to my sister but she didn't get why i didn't like her!

I just saw it tonight, and it was absolutely perfect. Oh and I hated Summer at the end!! Ugh, but then I was happy again when Autumn came. LOL It was one of those sweet little movies I won't be forgetting anytime soon.

I tried watching this movie on the internet, but got a virus instead. :judge:
I want to watch it so badly!

What do you get if you cross Bonnie and Clyde with Fred and Ginger?

Zooey and Joe.

Their star-crossed romance in the comedy (500) Days of Summer has been making off with the box-office loot since its limited debut two weeks ago. To kick off Friday's nationwide release, Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are giving away a separate short film, a music video about a bank heist in which the teller's heart is stolen along with the cash.

MAKING OF: Go behind the scenes

MORE ON THE MOVIE: Deschanel and Gordon-Levitt are a couple, just for 'Summer'

REVIEW: Bask in the warmth of delightful '(500) Days of Summer'

The video, directed by (500) Days filmmaker Marc Webb, premieres today exclusively at life.usatoday.com before moving to other TV and Internet outlets.

Gordon-Levitt plays a stoic man in a neat blue suit, turning to crime in a moment of absolute desperation. Deschanel is the gorgeous, wide-eyed teller, disarming the dangerous man (metaphorically speaking) in a playful, twirling, fox-trotting dance through the stuffy, starkly lit marble lobby. The other dour denizens go about their business unaware.

Providing the soundtrack: the song Why Do You Let Me Stay Here? by She & Him, Deschanel's retro-rock duo with musician M. Ward.

Deschanel and Gordon-Levitt say they hope to team up repeatedly and have aspirations of being a regular screen couple, like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers or Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn.

They're not a real couple, but they're good at faking it.

"I think it's great to have continuous collaborators," Deschanel says.

"It's a shortcut that makes it so much more fun. The job is much easier when you can go to set and be like, 'Ah, Joe!' "

"Absolutely. And there's trust," he says.

"And it's not like, 'Hey, nice to meet you — let's make out! LALAlalala," she says, closing her eyes and sticking out her tongue in a mock French kiss.

"As weird as it is filming a love story in front of a million people, at least you have your friend," she says.

^ Thanks for the link.
I love them together. You can smell their chemistry.
& I finally watched the movie! I loved it. It was very smartly
written.

Oh, this was a fantastic movie. I  it so much. Definitely going to see it a second time because it was just so sweet.

I recommend it to everyone! There were even quite a few guys in the theatre too.

**** me, Joseph. HAHAHA

She looked absolutely beautiful at Millie's wedding.
I want that dress, in that exact same color.

Ahhh, I just got back from seeing this - it was only released today in the UK - and I think its is probably the best movie I've seen all year (except for HP, but thats in a whole class of its own and you can't really compare the two!). The story was just so adorable and I really liked the fact it was an 'alternative' to the typical romcom  I also really loved how it was shot and edited - Summer's costumes were pretty good too. I am now totally got me hooked on The Temper Traps too.

While I can understand why some people dislike Summer at the end, I actually liked her more. It was really wrong not to tell him, but I like the fact that they were esentially saying "Its OK sometimes to be selfish". Yes, she could have stayed with him being unhappy but that would have totally ruined the relationship and it would have eventually disintergrated anyway. Sometimes people feel different things for each other, and although its sad often the best thing for everyone involved is to let go

Watched the movie yesterday and i thought it was AMAZING, one of the best movies i've seen this year. I totally understood why Summer did what she did until she invited Tom to her engagement party, after that i started to feel sorry for Tom. She could have at least told him she was moving on, poor guy ...he went there with such high expectations and ended up leaving totally crushed

I loved to two Regina Specktor songs that were in the movie as well as The Temper Tramps

Also the cute little Bank Dance they made to promote the movie hasn't been posted here yet so here it is

I loved the movie! Soooo good. Didn't like the ending much though.
+ it made me think about my relationship a lot as well

Eeep! I know I'm probably months late, but I just saw it today! It's officially the cutest movie I've seen that's realistic and doesn't border on cheesiness. JGL & Zooey are <3. They have great chemistry, and I think it helps that they're friends in real life.
I hope this movie gets Oscar noms for best screenplay.

Has anyone seen their other movie together, Manic?

This still reminds me of their cute role-playing in IKEA.
"Darling. I don't know how to tell you this, but there's a Chinese family in our bathroom."
Adorable.

I've watched this movie about 3 times. & never got sick of it. Oh, goodness. I am so much in love with Zooey and her style on and off this film.

I finally saw this and the word 'original' was attached to it quite a lot and boy was it original. I love films that have something different to say. I was actually expecting something cliched to happen any minute, but it actually didn't.
