I go to a Catholic School and were having this Catholic Schools Week at school in the first week of Febuary where we do talet shows, spelling bees, and other really cool stuff. We also have this program where every class pics a type of dance and my class picked the 50's. We are suppose to dress how people dressed on the 50's. Something like a poodle skirt. But i dont what to wear a poddle skirt so im going with something like a polo, cropped jeans, a cartiagan, and some type of shoes. Do any of you know any stores where they have these piceces or what color should i go with or any advice like that? I really dont want to spend a lot of money but i do want to look cute and girly.

i'm not really sure of many shops in the US, but H&M will probably sort you out, i got some fine knit cardigans from there recently, and if you wear a necktie with what your wearing it'll also add to your '50's' look. :flower:

Saddle shoes, definitely. Just go to some regular stores, think very conservative. Have you seen Pleasantville? That's how normal teenagers dressed. No one actually wore poodle skirts, unless you were very out there. My mum grew up then, it was a lot of long and full skirts, sweaters and a cardigans. Find yourself a wide headband and flip your hair out from under. If you feel like putting in more of an effort, go to a vintage store and find yourself a pretty dress. Please though, I beg you- do not take Grease for inspiration! That movie was made in the 70's, and was that era's interpretation.
