77th Academy Awards Thread

I think Johnny Depp looked awful, and has been looking rather scraggly lately. I never thought that he was particularly handsome, and that suit is ill fitting and an ugly color.

On the upside, the suit goes well with the vile Revlon red lipstick his lady friend is wearing.

I'm sorry, somebody had to say it. He looks terrible, and he needs to shave...BADLY.

Good
Kate Winslet - is this just becuase I'm in love with her? Meh
Gisele - Could she be any more beautiful? I got an extreme Aphrodite vibe from her
Gwyneth - Maybe its just because her t*ts look great?
OK
Most of them... everyone looked the same
Bad
Renee - Holy crap her face is more bizarre than ever before. I swear her eyes have totally disappeared. Why did her dress have a doily stitched onto the train?
Beyonce - She could have worn anything and I'd still say she looked like trash because she butchered three songs and a language. She's like a poster child for - I won't say it for the many non-ugly American's on the board that might be offended

ewww Paris is worse looking everytime I see her. Not that many people looked good at the after party...I like kate bosworth and kristen davis.

I think most of the attendees looked good...my favs:

charlize, vanessa paradis, maggie g., kate winslet, and salma hayek

worst: hilary swank and melanie griffith. those low back dresses are so low it is uncomforatble to look at.

OMG someone needs to tell stephanie seymour she's at an oscars afterparty...not a victoria's secret photoshoot...that is the tackiest outfit...plus she's like 40? is she trying to revitalize her career?

Hilary Swank: Miserable, self obsessed and insincere as she came across (trailer park blah blah, dreams blah blah) I can't believe so many people disliked this dress for being too concealing. I think it is horrible that our eyes have become so adjusted to acres of flesh. I think the dress was gorgeous and stylish (what an amazing back she has!) and reminded me of Angelina's famous black one except in purple. Where was Angie? Nothing is ever anything without the first lady of our planet (gush gush)

Oh. I loved her speech - well, parts of it. I feel connected to her in a way because my dad lost his business (which, oddly enough, was a boxing gym) when I was young, and we had to live in a trailer for a couple of years. It was sad and embarrassing at the time. I remember being very aware of my surroundings, and self-conscious of what kids at school would say. Hilary was on Oprah recently, and she is a doll in interviews. I find her very sweet and sincere. She was crying on Oprah about making it out of the trailer park. Yeah, it may sound funny or cliche to some people, but I have been there. Luckily, my dad became successful again...and I graduated college and am a respected radiologist. To me, her speech was motivating, and it made me cry a little because it hit home.

Okay...now back to fashion gossip! ha!

Renee has been looking horrible the last few years. She has lost too much weight. Her skin looks bad too in some of the close-up photos of her face that I posted earlier in this thread. I think it is the result of malnourishment or something - it looks awful. She was pretty several years ago...with blonde hair and more curves. But now she looks really bad. The dress was gross...and I would be embarrassed, as there were a couple of other red mermaid-style gowns - worn by Sandra Oh and Emmy Rossum - which looked much better than Renee's.
Don't get me started on Beyonce. I am American, and I don't like her...she's everywhere - I'm sick of her, and wish she would go away. I'm glad you cleared that up about her slaughtering the songs - although I took Spanish in High School, and don't know a thing about French - I thought the "French" song she sang sounded Spanish and not French. Am I right? I wish Vanessa Paradis would have jumped up there and grabbed the microphone out of Beyonce's hand. I'm curious to know what you wanted to say about Beyonce - but think will offend Americans. I doubt I'd be offended, as I do not like her at all. She is not as ghetto as J Lo though...but she's close.

Girls, this gossiping is so fun. I don't care if people don't understand it. I think most of us are hard-working women, who are nice people. And it is fun to let loose and be frivolous and focus on trivial things once in a while, isn't it?

I liked the costume designers.

as a general rule, one's hair should never be lighter than one's skin,
especially when both are ridiculously unnatural.

she's absolutely orange!
...and absolutely von tussle...

Faves.....

Hilary-loved that dress, it stood out and the back was to die for.

Beyonce's arrival look-very elegant, a great step for Beyonce stylewise.

Gisele-because I hated that dress on the runway and it looked fabulous on her. She looked beautiful.

Gwen-she looked fierce in that Versace gown at the Vanity Fair party.

Natalie-as someone else said I'm so glad she moved away from Posen.

Annette-so classic, loved the neckline.

Natalia-her hair and makeup looked beautiful and the dress she wore at the Vanity Fair party was a gorgeous color.

Kirsten-that was the most grown up I've ever seen her looking, I liked the whole look a lot.
