81st Annual Academy Awards

i would also love to see that melissa leo film. from the trailer and the scenes that have been shown the last few weeks, she really did deserve that nom.

YES, YES, YES. Watch it, pronto. What an amazing little gem. Melissa Leo is sensational.

Vanessa Hudgens is very confident! First she's a young Audrey Hepburn and just now on the E! After Show she said something about not being able to wait until she wins an Oscar. It could have been a really cute comment but the way that she said it was just really snide and there was an awful giggle after it. She's so beautiful but she makes it hard to like her.
Also in the background of an interview Anne Hathaway was posing for a picture with someone (like a fan type) and he totally put his hand on her butt. It was really funny.

^^Couldnt it be custom made by Nicolas? Aynway from what i saw on TV it was nothing to rave about, and her hair was bad, but i might change my mind when we get pictures.

My favorite part of the night was the presentation of the Screenplays by Steve Martin and Tina Fey. Totally funny and totally great.

Second favorite part was the bit by Ben Stiller (and Natalie Portman).

Third favorite part, having some of the past winners on stage. Not sure how I would feel if this became a regular thing, but I enjoyed it for tonight. Thought I miss the acting clips.

Not so good parts.
All the musical parts. Ugh. No thank you.

Scenes from Romance, Animation, etc. I liked the idea, I hated how the clips were edited together.

Giving the award to Sean Penn over Mickey Rourke. So typical of the Oscars. Ugh.

^i wish i knew. it certainly has that aesthetic in it's technique but i dunno. could have been another theyskens concoction?

Reese's outfit was totally Rodarte!!!

I really liked the production this year. Wasn't totally a fan of the musical numbers, but that's usually the case. I LOVED the past winners presenting the award for this year's nominees. It was poignant, but not sappy. Wonderful.

Pissed Heath won. He wouldn't even have been nominated if he was still alive...and that's a fact. If anyone should have been nominated from The Dark Knight, it should have been Aaron Eckhart, but he's alive, so he wasn't nominated...

Glad Sean Penn won, he was wonderful in Milk. So happy Kate won, she was incredible in The Reader. Happy Slumdog Millionaire won...great movie.

Highlight of the show...Tina Fey and Steve Martin (even though I generally don't like Steve).

I wondered if he would've won if he was still alive.

agreed dior. funny thing is that steve was actually a bit funnier than tina.

i think he would have won regardless. i mean can you really imagine with that lot, apart from seymour hoffman especially given the intense depth of his portrayal?

BEST DRESSED (from the show. ain't staying up for after-parties.)

1) Marion Cotillard in Dior couture
2) Nicole Kidman in L'Wren Scott
2) SJP in Dior couture
3) Jennifer Aniston in Valentino couture

WORST DRESSED

1) Tilda Swinton (she's pretty much guarantee one of worst-dressed at every event. I don't care if it's "her uniqueness", the outfit is garbage)
2) Heidi Klum
3) Miley Cyrus

* * * * *
On a side note, alot of women wore strapless, poufy gowns.

^your opinion. but putting her with heidi and miley cyrus...i feel my retina burning reading that!
