I suggest one of those Jelly Kelly's that have been sort of popular~ Matt&Nat (viavegan.com) makes a version for around $80. A bunch of us at my school started carrying them- they are a lifesaver. Big, roomy, and the plastic makes it easy to locate stuff when you don't want to dig... Perfect for school.

I just got a LeSportsac backpack and its really comfortable for carrying books around school. The Herve Chapeliers look good too, I just didn't have enough money .

this is a smaller version (comes with a wallet pouchy type thing attached)
