A good JET BLACK hair dye?

my natural hair color was almost jet black, well its like black brown. I've dyed about twice a mahogany/burgundy brown. and then at an attempt to get it back to its natural hair color i dyed it a dark brown.

nothing really happened though. my hair still is red in the light! what do you guys suggest i do? i'm kind of apprehensive about going to a salon because i'm strapped on cash....but if there is a good dye on the shelf that will do the job.

my hair is short and middle brown at the moment but i want to go for black. now i am pretty much on the pale side and scared that black hair will make me look like a corpse somehow :/ can black hair suit you when you have a pale complexion and should i go for jet black or bluish black?

personally i find jetblack hair better with pale skin than blueish hair. but thats just me.

If not Manic Panic, how about a good glosser? I’m sick of using dyes that need developers.

^have you tried using Revlon Colorsilk ammonia free? I just recently started using it, I love it. It has no ammonia, it leaves your hair super shiny and soft. and you can use it monthly. it's only $2.50

i'm pretty sure dita wrote in her book she uses revlon dye.

if anyone has any glossers they'd recommend for keeping black hair really black, please enlighten me!

I use revlon colorsilk in black. It is cheap, I know, but it seems to be pretty gentle. doesn't irritate my scalp like so many dyes can, drugstore and at the salon. It makes me natural strawberry blonde hair black, VERY black. The blue black is good too, by them. Not too blue, just enough that is has a slight depth in the sun but not a blue reflection. I like the regular black on me better, though.

I love, love, love "Black Leather" by Loreal Feria. It's the perfect natural black that isn't blue based but is pure, shiny black. It's stunning! I highly recommend it.

Does anything know what would look good on me ? I am middle eastern and my hair is naturally a soft brownish black but it is has been caramel based with blondish highlights for years now like Jessica Alba or Jennifer Lopez. my skin is a mediam tanned olive skin color with green undertones(veins) the closest person i can think of thats close to my skin shade is kim kardashian on a pale-ish day i want to go back to black to looking natural and pretty but im too scared because i have not been raven haired for 6 years. Im looking to go really dark and glossy to enhance my natural looks please help !

The problem is my hair already has red undertones in it all middleeastern hair do and henna only looks good on virgin hair my hair is currently blonde-ish i think it would turn green

dying my hair was the biggest mistake I EVER did!
I was literally stuck with black hair. It's a very difficult process
to remove black dye from your hair. Your hair gets ruined, I was
lucky enough to let my hair grow(my hair grows super fast).
