A. P. C.

Oh, and for anyone who may be interested, I solved the issue regarding shipping outside of France. Since the site has changed, you have to scroll down to bottom left and click 'pays de livraisons' to select your country/currency before it will allow you to go through checkout.

I also seem to have problems with the sizing at APC. I've got two long sleeve stripy t-shirts, pretty much the same, one of them is size L and fits perfectly (I'm UK size 10) and the other one is M and fits exactly the same like the mentioned L. Also, when I was buying the second top I tried on S and it fit perfectly but decided to get M in case it shrank.

Would never buy anything from APC online. I definitely prefer to try things on because of their weird sizing.

What does everyone think about the F/W collection?
I'm not totally sure if I'm disappointed or I like some pieces.

Some dresses are imho far too oldfashioned... Some look downright "cleaning woman" to me. Some skirts, shirts on the other hand look quite lovely.
I don't think they have the best stylist for their HP pictures though....

On NetAPorter, a skirt in XS is described as having a 30 inch waist, I think. This really confused me, for XS is supposed to correlate to a UK6.

Well, hey, at least their shoe sizing is stable!

...
i went to apc with my mom...
she hated most of it ...

she actually said that the dress i liked looked like something my grandmother would wear to clean the house...
:o:o:o

i purchased it immediately...
:D......

Love a lot of their stuff - but HATE their sizing. I have some things in medium and some in small. Every season it changes, drives me crazy.

Lol, are you sure we do not have the same mother?

I can now confirm that apc skirts are true to size. Unlike their blouses, shirts and dresses, in my opinion. I would say that the xs skirt is roughly a UK8.

Do they have sales online and if so, when do they start?

Thank you. I was hoping for Christmas sales.

Purchased this lovely coat, but it is too big for me :(
Shall have to return or sell it on. It is one of the most beautiful quality garments that I have ever worn, though, and I really wish that the sizing made sense to me (it is XS, I am a UK8 and 5'4 so can't see why it had to fail).

I keep trying to convince myself that it fits ok, but everyone who has actually seen it has said it buries me at the shoulders. The images here don't put that across so much, but it's still there...

my images.

So upset.

A pity. I agree with you about the fit at the shoulders being off, otherwise it's a beautiful and timeless coat.

i don't know...
with a warm thick sweater under it, i think it would be good...
:ermm:...

i'd wear it like that...definitely...
loose and louche...
a bit of volume always feels luxurious to me...
:p

Aby, thanks, I love that image in your profile pic (I'm a huge fan of Toast!)

Softgrey, I keep wondering about that, but whenever I try it on it sort of drains my complexion (possibly not my colour either) and makes my head look the size of a pea. It did look great with a scarf to drag attention from the width, but it feels wrong to hold onto it because it was so expensive. It would probably have to be perfect for that price. My own fault for buying online though.

That said, the quality is beyond exquisite - so painful to pack it up again!

I agree with softgrey about the coat. I would wear it loose as well, I don't think that it looks too boxy. A tiny bit of room in the shoulders is okay with me, as I tend to layer a lot in the winter. Thick scarves and sweaters need room.

I'm a big APC fan and I thought I'd review my buys for this season; they might be of interest to some of you!

1. Navy sweater dress

(from www.net-a-porter.com)

This is absolutely perfect for me. It's cozy and chic and looks good with jeans or tights. The first day I wore it I had that rare feeling of knowing it would be a favourite for years. I got it in XS and it fits perfectly (I am a UK 8-10).

2. Shawl cardigan
images

(from www.apc.fr)

I got this in S rather than my usual XS - I find APC cardigans fit small - and it fits fine. It's not the most versatile cardigan imaginable - it works with round neck tops but looks weird with most of my collared blouses - but I kept it as a useful extra layer over dresses and jersey tops in winter.

What do you all think of the new look APC website? The moving models are a good idea in theory, but I find myself missing the lookbook style of the old site - it was easier to take in the clothes that way, I think. I'm not keen on the pictures of models wearing the clothes either - I don't like the way their heads aren't shown and the light is very harsh and doesn't show the clothes at their best. I'd be interested to hear what other APC fans think. :)

^Love the dress, very classic <3

I don't own anything from APC but I quite like the style. I've been looking at their 100% wool sweaters. Does anyone own one and can tell me if they are itchy?

i also miss the layout of tthe old site. the new site seems a bit too stuffy to me.
i have two a.p.c coats. but unfortunately, i find their winter coats absolutely not warm enough. pity. cause they are beautiful. but to stay warm is more important for me.
it annoys me somehow cause i find some vintage wool coats on the contrary to be perfectly warm. and it's hard to find something similar in current brands&stores. so this is not only with a.p.c. but i love wool coat in the winter, and don't wanna go down the "down puffy coat" route.
anyone else has this problem?
