Great thread, I've been curious to see some earlier Karl's work for Chanel. I really loved S/S 1999 Couture collection, so simple and easy, yet classy, especially Kate in that white sequinned dress. Ah..
If all of the departed grand masters and couturiers were to come back and take a gander at the state and condition of their houses, I think Mlle. Chanel would be the most pleased. Were she alive today, I don't think her vision of Chanel and Karl's would be very far off at all; I think he's done an excellent job of staying true to the aesthetic, but also growing with the times.
