A Second Lookbook

This one was my unexpected favourite, a different approach... We focused on the background rather than the figure and just filled in the outline with contour lines.

And, to finish off here, random feet and something that was meant to be me emoting with that paint?

I like the muscle articulations, Purple!

And now, as they say, for something completely different:

This is the prettiest dress I have made in months.

This one is a Halloween costume for one of my co-workers. I told her that if she can't win a costume contest with it (it is a copy of one of Beyonce's stage dresses) then she should at least scam as many free drinks as her cleavage will allow.

The sleeves are slit all the way up to the elbow, then have a peek-a-boo effect from elbow to shoulder.

The design originally called for a matching keyhole cutout in front, but my client deemed it a bit too risque.

The mockup, with the original neckline.

The final version is about 3" longer and has about 1.5" more wearing-ease.

Quite funky as_you_like_it, especially that geometric one! B)

These are from yesterday... My apologizes for the sort-nudity, it's for an assignment. The background's actually going to be very geometric as well, I've found a fabric sample with lots of black and gold that I think will be perfect. So far I have been looking at a lot of Klimt for inspiration. Also, some of the work of Egon Schiele. A nice chance to take a slight departure from my typical styles.

Here's a slight sampling of Schiele's work.

here is one on my latest drawings. i can't shade to save my life, so it's just the basic idea on paper. did all of you go to school to learn to sketch and shade like that? does anyone know of a program i can buy or whatnot for my sketches so that i can color them and do detailing? :flower:

It's still not finished, but considering that I've been working on it for hours, I thought that I was probably allowed to post it at this point. The body and face still need to be done, but I wasn't exactly in the mood for them now.
:ninja: The detail of this work is probably the most I have ever done for anything, ever. Sometimes I honestly wonder at my sanity and foresight...

:o Purple, it's beautiful...the detail is just wonderful. :flower:

I got the idea for it just last night, but here's the drawing anyhow...
This next piece is also a bit religious in an odd way, nothing clearly defined though. It's just two figures on either side, a male and female. They'll be seated and in that traditional thinker's pose, like that one by Rodin. I actually really want to leave the counterparts nude, but since the assignment is for clothed figures, I'll to have to give them some really simple drapery. Above them will be a female figure, definitely clothed, and almost floating- I know for a fact that I've been looking at way too many Assumption of the Virgins! Like the depictions of the Madonna, the rising body will have that traditional blue cloak, and red underclothing. The male below'll be wearing blue and the female will have red again, to pick up the tones. Anyway, it's hard to explain, but I'm really excited, obviously.

wow purple, that picture is beautiful, really really really good  You have a strong drawing style, love it :flower: Hard to discribe but there is a strong style there, the way you draw the lines makes the pictures very much alive :)

Thanks so much, I probably need to started on the painting itself at some point too...

As usual, such cuteness from you and very unique as well. ^_^ Not to mention that you're really pretty!

I love this drawing.

Hello all, I was just checking out the thread and was taken aback by how many people here are damn good with the arts. Wow. I'm asking you guys to check out some of my work at the link below, so please do and tell me what you think.

And Ms. Purple, I can't get over your detail and anatomy, awesome hands you had back there, wish I could use acrylic.

Gorgeous, gorgeous work! I sincerely really admire what you've done with so many of these. Especially that female skeletone one, I've actually added it onto my list of favourites. :woot:
My friend from school told me about deviantart not that long ago, it's a very fun site... I only wish that you didn't have to go through so much to get your pictures uploading, it's a rather time-consuming process. Wonderful to get a taste of what others are working on though.
edit: And thanks for the compliment.

What I've been working on this evening...
I do realize that the male looks a bit too much like a Ken doll.
