your friend had a anomaly experience then... i have said this now 500 times i should work for accutane's marketing department but it is incredible how it clears you up... your friend most likely got sick of the blood work and the peeling and dryness which all gets easier like anything if you don’t stick with the drug and are not patient you w ill not reap the rewards.Originally posted by Jaim45@Jan 15th, 2004 - 11:45 am
I've known many people that were on it and it does not work. The only side effect is the dryness of your skin. Its bad dryness though. One of my friends had it bad. Her whole face was peeling. In the end, it didn't clear anything up. I think it is a money making scheme. You keep buying more of it and going back to the dr. for exams and blood. I think birth control clears up acne more and is cheaper.![]()

accutane is iso-tretinoin. what this does is close your oil glands and shrink up the size of your pores pushing all the impurities beneath your skin to the surface. everything you see on your face is actually few weeks old trapped beneath your skin. so for the first month or 2 depending on how serious your acne is, you will break out but it depends. you may only break out a little if you have mild case but if youre a pizza face, you dont even want to know.
anyways, why would you want to use accutane for acne just on one side of your chin? its not worth it. just go with a oral antibiotic + topical treatment. I use minocycline and retin-a micro. Accutane messes with you so horrendously. It sucks your oil glands dry making your skin dry to the point you just want to rip it off. it also messed with your joints, it supposedly eats away at the cartilage for some people not all. causes mood swings and may even make somehair fall out. Unless you have a very serious case, i wouldnt go for it.
