First, I want to say hi to all, I'm a relatively new member but, I actually view this blog everyday as a ritual.

I also want to say that i've been an avid fan of Adriana since VSFS 2003, and I became really excited when she started to take an interest in rebuilding her HF resume, but as a huge fan, I have to say I've become so hurt as of late. I was ecstatic at her presence at FNO, but then felt she fell flat (in performance), I was excited by the prospect of her going HF, and then Alessandra and Giselle (both post-baby) rack them up (covers, runway appearances, exclusives, and campaigns). I can't help but wonder if its representation, is it Adriana's possible lack of concern, her weight? I just feel like the opportunities for her to show what we know she can be are not presenting themselves. Perhaps, I'm a little too concerned, but it kills me that her beauty (to me) outshines many of her counterparts, we know she's versatile (Givenchy campaign/runway vs. V cover) and yet, she's either overlooked, or not making the effort...I'm not sure...I'll stop my rant...I want more Adriana in a very serious way...Ale and La Bundchen even get more candid paps coverage than she does....

I was so happy when I heard she was switching to Marilyn, but they really haven't done as much with her as they could be doing and as they do with some of their other successful girls. So it has to be her.

imo adriana lacks the buisness savy .look at klum she was a catologue model went to vs and built a mini empire for herself .as much as i like adriana i think this is her problem.i to remmber fno she looked beautiful .however i couldnt help but to think she didnt want to be there.but the thing that got me the most was last year met gala.its like she isnt interested in anything outside vs shes content as being a vs angel and dosnt realize how much more she can do.if she is happy with just that i say good for her i gave up hope a while back.shes still one of my favourite models though

I don`t hate Ale for it, but I really appreciate Adriana for not doing it More coverage has probably helped Ale`s career (and I believe it is very contemplated), but I can `t see Adri sharing her every friend and family shot in Twitter, or paps following her to kids`playground.

But I am disappointed, too, that she hasn`t been like everywhere after her pregnancy. I tought she would be the one to kick everyone`s a** in HF world. But hey, maybe she wants to spend more time with her family, woman`s priorities change big time when there is baby involved. And Valentina is very small yet. I just refuse to believe someone somewhere wouldn`t want her to be the face of his brand

Someone said elsewhere that maybe she wants her comeback to be solely with VS (or rather they want it to be with them) and then after the VSFS which is looking to be her show, she'll probably start up with the HF again showing up for F/W. It sort of makes sense to me.

^Paps have just straight out said it and some blogs have hinted at it when posting the pictures. Like there were a set of pictures where she gave them the middle finger and looked angry and they were all "Well, you called us!" But that's for another thread.

we won't even start on what I think about Ale and her super-ego - that's not for this thrread

as far as adriana, I think it would be a bit backwards to be solely promoting VS and then try to do more HF. however, now that Heidi is gone it kind of makes more sense, depending on the route they are trying to go with her. If Dri is really trying to build a brand then being the HBIC at VS is the way to go (a la Heidi) if not, then she should be working really hard to get back into HF more.

but I think it all depends on how much a model wants it, which I sometimes forget about. Ana BB was with VS for sooo long I thought it was only natural for her to be next in line for Angel status but I've heard that she didn't want that (which I guess is to her advantage now). working in HF means a lot more traveling than I think is required for VS and she probably just wants to be a mom right now. with Adriana, I think her priorities are changing, which I understand completely.

VS has been preparing for Adriana to take over that lead spot for most likely 2 years or more. The 08 VSFS was a big indicator, she got the fantasy bra, opened the show, closed the segment, wore the fantasy bra, and besides Heidi got the biggest opening. If you look around most of the flagship stores, her images are everywhere much more than any other girl. She opens the show more than any other current angel, and now has worn the bra twice as well. They had Adriana do most of the launches/talk shows and etc with Heidi in the last few years, so VS knows what they are doing.
VS has always went in order of seniority, never anything else. With that being said, and along with all the press, media and other obvious signs, Adriana being lead angel is obvious. Heidi has wanted to leave for a while now, but VS was holding onto her until they were ready to let her go (most people don't know this) and it was in order to get a new lead Angel ready, because lets face it two years ago Adriana wasn't ready then. She is now, and she's been doing well all year.
Adriana's career is going to be going into overdrive with VS, she's about where heidi was in 2002, in everything, doing every launch, getting all the big honors and etc. Adriana is leading the Christmas commercial, going back and taking over swim (heck it's her 5th day shooting swim today), she'll be the headliner of this show, she's the main face of their beauty line and everything. It's very clear VS has made her the lead, and they are going to use it in every advantage they have. Eventually she'll only make 1-3 appearances like Heidi did toward the end, but that's several years away.
I think anyone hoping, wanting or crossing there fingers that any other Angel has taken that lead position can just laugh it off at this point.
With that being said, I think that is what she's focusing on. She hasn't worked this much for VS in years, now that she's the HBIC she's going to work a whole lot more. My guess is after the busiest part of the year for VS dies down a little bit (December and on) She'll return to more editorials, and HF and etc. Remember if anything VS will be having her in editorials more often if not to push their own product.

i have no problem with adriana being the lead girl at vs .the fact is she is most deserving . my concern is thats all she seems to do these days and i would like to see her do other things and find a balance .have her own line of jewelry,clothing ,sandals or a skin care line .i want to see her doing more buisness.she needs to spread her angel wings.to many people just see her as a victoria secret angel and i cant blame them .even when she takes over fully as lead angel.its not going to do anything for her brand if she doesnt begin to seek out other opurtunities for herself.she needs to study heidi, or tyra dont follow them. but look at what vs did for them and how much more they did for themselves.

Adriana can do well with a HF career (but that's just me contradicting myself since I don't believe in the so-called HF model...a good model is a good model, and Adriana is a damn good one). I wholly embrace the idea. I would not want to see her doing what Heidi or Tyra is doing. she is a model and she should stick with that. she still has years to go in her career.
