Alexander McQueen F/W 2024.25 Preview : Debra Shaw & Frankie Ryder by Tommy Malekoff

This campaign is presuming I have no direct acquaintance with ancient pine forests imbued with a Celtic ambiance.

I wonder where this was shot, because those uniformly slim spindles seem more like a commercially / artificially planted young forestry that may or may not be located near any mystical lands.

I can see it being a Scots Pine plantation, as part of a rewilding project. All good, but hardly ancient woodland.

Reading the thread title, I was ready to be wowed. To me, it just looks like somebody went down the road during Halloween and sat down on the floor of a local forest, and then tried to sell me the idea that it was MYSTICAL.

Hmmm, not feeling it at all. But I love the cast.

How do you get 2 of the best print models and put those costumey masks on them?

The images are up on the Mcqueen website. I like it - I love the casting and the mood. The halloween store masks, the platform uggs boots that Frankie is wearing and the combat boots that Debra is wearing are throwing me off. Mcqueen would've had them in heels. Hopefully there are more images leading up to the show where the beautiful Debra Shaw and Frankie Rayder aren't hidden? The suit is actually the most promising look for me. The team he put together is interesting (art director of Miu Miu and the director/photographer does Salem's, Lana Del Rey's ex boyfriend's band, visuals) so it's going to definitely be a "cool girl" take on the brand.

the party dresses in this preview are not mcqueen at all. yes it is fresh and definitely aiming for coachella vibes but wheres the tailoring? :/

This is more burberry.

I’m not sure what to think about it yet but… what I don’t understand is that on the website it says this (the campaign that is), is the introductory presentation of Sean’s tenure at McQueen… isn’t it Sarah’s collection? why would he decide about the images that still reflect her last vision for the brand? even the last collection (resort) was designed by Burton.
feels entirely wrong and clearly tone deaf. unless I’m missing something.

not picking up anything desirable about a stranger in a wood with a mask on. Call me crazy
