Alexander McQueen Mens S/S 09 Milan

I'm loving the new direction here.. it's playful, experimental and aesthetically interesting. Looks good to me.

I love it. Even tho' I'm not a fan of experimental clothes I think this collection has a very interesting concept. Kinda Unwearable but you know, gotta see how it translates in retail stores next year.

It's very innovative and I see Alexander McQueen's own aesthetics in this collection.

I'd die for the SHOES!!!B)

The metallic color of the shoes look like Lanvin from this current season S/S 2008..... wish to see the whole collection.

It reminds me so much of Prada's last season plus a bit of Jil but it is still McQueen somehow and I feel like I want to see more pics :o

From what I've seen, very McQueen in the 90's....I'm unsure of what to think yet, so far, it missed the mark for me

i'm afraid to say, those black to nude fade aways look very uncanny similar to Issey Miyake's, and the metal jacket looks like Julien Mcdonald's givenchy!! then i have to say i loved that swimsuit...:p

The full show is on men.style.com now.

While I don't like a lot of it, at least he's thinking again. F/W 08 was lazily tossed together and instantly forgettable (a first for a McQueen show IMO). This reworks many of his signatures without feeling like a greatest hits show (ala one of the recent women's shows). You have the straps and various vertical lines that echo throughout his menswear career.

Like this piece that recalls f/w 07- http://men.style.com/slideshows/mens/fashionshows/S2009MEN/AMCMEN/RUNWAY/00020m.jpg

The early color palate isn't in line with what I'd wear. His two toned pieces aren't interesting. http://men.style.com/slideshows/mens/fashionshows/S2009MEN/AMCMEN/RUNWAY/00060m.jpg

Most of the suiting looks fine, but I'm tired of his pagoda shoulders. He does it again and again and again. A signature, sure, but why?

At least he's placing tailoring prominently on the runway again. I had more than enough of S/S 08's beach party and F/W 08's mountain man colonialism.

If he's going to use tricks he's better off doing what he did here with the skeletal detailing. Maybe he can leave skulls behind and focus on some other bits of the anatomy. This may be a gimmick, but it's the first moderately darkly funny thing he's done in seasons.

The corsetlike cropped vests are the most intriguing part of the collection because unlike the efforts of some other designers, you can integrate them with preexisting pieces (all you'd need is a pair of black pants) and change your silhouette. It's also not entirely feminine. There's a macho edge here.

This is fun, but he did it to better effect years ago when he made some skinny pants with a flesh colored hose stripe down the side of the leg. I don't wear those pants often, but they're good for the androgyn effect.

I like seeing a variation of one of my favorite Jil women's fabrics brought into menswear.

FYI- Here's a snapshot of the old pants I mentioned with the fleshtoned stripe vs the current season's plastic variation.
