Alexander McQueen Mens S/S 08 Milan

^^ about this pic :
wow the model's foot are weird...
sorry for the offtopic! ;)

I've defenitely seen Alexander McQueen doing better but when I see all the pictures I kind of like it. I don't like the outfits that he put together but I do like a lot of the pieces when not seen in these outfits. What isn't a good thing in my opinion is that the show doesn't look like a SHOW... There is too much to be seen and I can't really see an overall look apart from the 80's feeling which does look "cool" to me, it's just too big to just describe it as "80's".

The models, the setup...the clothing...nothing is working for me.

Go sit in the corner, Alexander!

I'm disappointed.

ooh,i'm in agreement with, mike. perhaps his grief was so immense,it was an uninspired season for him. i don't get this at all. well,i get that it's very beach boys but i don't understand why......

did katy england style this, btw? it seems really off-putting....like a rip-off of kawakubo and raf simons. and that's definitely not in either she nor mcqueen's style.

Looking at the whole collection, there are some good pieces and a few good outfits (a suit worn by that guy. You know, the one with the hair.). But this cxollection has the `good individually, bad as a whole` conundrum, specifically with the pieces. There are some traces of him there, but is this collection a McQueen? Nope.

look to the diffusion line as possible inspiration. yes, the tailoring reeks of kawakubo. yet and still there are mcqueen menswear spring staples if you look closely(looks 12, 14-17 and 20 specifically). there is a whimsicality here prevalent in the designs of kim jones plus a crashbot of 80s pop print and 60s vivality. honestly i cannot see what else anyone would possible want need or desire if the essence of spring, of summer fun-in-the-sun is to be reflected in daywear. bravo mr mcqueen, this collection is a stylist's and styler's wet dream.

Hum ... have BIG problems with the knitwear and the stripey pieces ... I agree about Lee's lack of consistency ... I wonder if you just took the Marc Jacbos road and just has a team to do all his stuff and his entire involvement in the collection is just to vow at the end of the show ...

Anyhow ... the shorts and good and the jackets I approve ... I weirdly like the polka dotted stuff and well ... i totally dont get the skulls with the 70s flowery LOVE letters

I do agree that some peices are just inexplicable and random, but overall I like the collection and I think it is really interesting to see all of these different influences in one collection. 80's /aquatic/nautical:blush:

If anything that is the new trend (aside from this auatic fascination)
It's the meshing of multiple ideas and time periods to make a jumble of looks.

Thus far the idea has not been executed all that well, but I must admit that I like they way these designers are thinking. :flower:
I think we just need some time, I'm sure they will find a way to sell this stuff to people.

Don't like this one at all. Proportion's wrong, styling's gross, hair's a mess.

I pretend that I haven't alredy seen these collection...i'm sure that next time will be better.

i don't know about this all i agree with steeltoe with that the proportions all wrong on a lot of looks. Over all i like a few pieces here and there and then i LOVE the shirt with the orange creeping up in the bottom. but theres just to many i don't even know how to describe it other than awkward 80's. but to contrast my opinion i love the hair with the rockabilly look.

shoulderpads... :innocent:

get ready to see them everywhere, the 20years-comeback rule... we saw them already in some fw women shows

Hahah i love this!Great presentation as ever, and i am really surprised to see alot of people thinking it looks incosistent?!?!?! I see no such thing,to me this is a very strong collection. But then again thats just me.

His man is cool and dosent care what others will think,he is unique and not afraid to be "different".The more i look at it;The hair(OMG brilliant),the shoes, the pants, polka dots suits and coats:the whole look reminds me of particular 80s movie "Pretty in Pink" and its eclectic, funky character "Duckman"! So cool, anyone else(who saw the movie)knows what i am talking about?

saw the film, love the film and yes it is a solid comparison with the billowy polka shirting and trousers. honestly this collection is pure heaven. it's teddy boy hair , 80s print/silhouette, and surf style emotion/effect come together for a clusterf*ck of brilliance. thank you ducky and l-a-mc-q!
