Miesel needs to get on the Burdeu band wagon. She's a perfect fit for VI's aesthetic. I'd love to see her in a Roversi ed .

Alice is still a new model, and as soon as she gets more edits, she'll get bigger. She is twice the model of some of the girls on that cover. I have confidence that she will look in top shape come next season. Rumours also have her changing bookers again, which is unusual but not surprising.

If you go way back in this forum, you wull see that I actually predicted her big breakout to be fw09/10, not ss09. Certainly, industry forcasting suggests that she will be more suited to next season's collections.

have not heard of anything in the works for Alice at the moment. She has been optioned for 2 majors that I know of, but they are known for optioning a ton of girls.

I was having a gay old time with Inez & Vinoodh last week, and we talked a lot about some of the campaigns and edits they would be doing the next few months, and Alice was not one of the girls they wanted to work with. I ask about whether they had heard of her, they said they loved her, but would not work with her until they felt like the conditions were better for her. When clarified, they meant the whole AusNTM thing, the weight thing and the whole not being right for any collections at the moment. It sucks that the Top Model thing is still a stigma she has to carry around.

People in fashion are fickle and stubborn. To them, the Top Model franchise is a joke. They are subsequently afraid that if they cast a girl from NTM, then not only will the publicity outshine their brand, but they will be a joke by association. Thus, it is a huge deal when Alice and Ksenia get cast because it's just not meant to happen. Then there are others who are perfectly fine with it.

Alice has enormous promise in the industry. She is beautiful. Even though she has such promise, some people may neglect such talent since she was on Top Model. It's totally harsh, I know, but it's just the way it goes sometimes.

Meanwhile, I have some casting news for London! Now this is merely speculation, but Alice has been optioned for the Luella campaign. Could this be the reason why she's going to London in a fortnight's time? It would be great if it was, but I seriously doubt that they would be shooting this early. Plus, I also have the list of some of the other optioned models, and there are some big(ish) names here that are in really good shape at the moment. Anyone with any idea what Alice is going to be doing in London, please let me know!

It sounds absolutely stupid that someone wouldn't cast her just because she won a modeling competition. You'd think after a D&G campaign, the NTM stigma would kinda fade a bit.

Well, I get the whole NTM thing (have you seen some of these shows? ) but as far as publicity goes the only series that would generate any outside of its country is the American version. Let's be frank. No paper/press/anything outside of Australia would make a big deal, say, if Alice B got cast for Bottega Venetta much less a major blue chip. Where was the uproar when Suvi got Balenciaga and Ksenia Dior? (I didn't even know Ksenia was a model reality show winner until just now.) So that door's been busted already.

I think it mostly comes down to fashion being a fickle industry where much of these things happen by chance or a sudden decision, a special moment. That's why even though I whine and whinge I'm really not too concerned about Alice's prospects right now because she's new. The buzz machine always makes it sound as if so many of the present top girls made it big as soon as they came out but Coco R. (for example), was actually out for a couple seasons before she got Miesel's eye and went nuclear (same thing for Stam). And of course Daria was in the game for, like, 4 years or something, literally doing catalogue and pedestrian magazine work before she exploded. Or they start out major and then have a few ups and downs before being consistent. Everyone crowned Toni G when she got Calvin K, then they doomed her to obscurity when it dropped her after one season, and now she's soaked up half of the blue chips leaving other top models out, cap in hand, begging for spares .

So! Until our darling, beautiful, magnificent, promising Alice B is sprouting grey hairs and taking 12 different prescription medications just to keep going I'm still expecting great things for her in high fashion.

I'm 99.9% sure it's her. If you look good, the hair is a bit reddish. And this girl has a fringe. And how many girls do you know with red hair and a fringe? Not many. It's Alice. I'm almost sure.

i kind of don't see it although i would love for it to be her! there's something about her cheek or mouth that looks different, no? it annoys me SO much that elite NEVER updates her photos on their site!!! compared to all the other girls in her category her photos just stagnate.....arrrrgh!
