really? fashion is fickle, about the next fresh face. Was Daria's Prada campaign in her first season unfair? or Gemma's Jil Sander/Prada ads?.. hmm
No it wasn't unfair.

Catherine Mcneill went from nothing to a Paris vogue cover and V cover in months! she did one show in NY, many in paris and milan, but its not like she was working hard for ages to get where she is.
Eccentricity said:To me, shes just not a legitimate model.. Suvi went through the paces for many seasons beofre debuting in the fashion limelight by opening Prada, that was her "break", smililarly, Gemma Ward was in the audience of a fashion competition and was flown to Milan to the Prada show, whereas this girl went on TV and got a complimentary cover simply because physcially her characteristics are regal and she embodies all the typical model attributes. Its somewhat unfair to other models to struggle through castings, futile shoots and auditions and dont book anything as prestigious as a Vogue cover, It took Raquel/Jessica/Lily years to get the cover of American Vogue. Australian Vogue seriously needs new managment and should endorse genuine models who have been around for more than two seconds.
It's the same argument. Why is it okay for a new girl whose only resume consists of a handful of polaroids and a couple of tests, to get to walk for prestigious brands such as Prada and star in the campaign too -- a booking that most models could only dream of getting -- yet it's not okay for a new girl with the same lack of experience to be on the cover of Vogue? (and we're taking about a minor edition here).Eccentricity said:really? fashion is fickle, about the next fresh face.
Actually Cath has been modeling on and off since she was around 14 Just in Aus though.
Alice, on the other hand, hasn't done much except for the shoots on the show and walking at Australian Fashion Week. She was scouted by Next a couple of years ago though, but wanted to wait til she was older.
It's actually extremely rare for Australian Vogue to put a model on the cover who isn't international/well-established. In the past 3-4 years, when models have been on there (rather than celebs), the only new/unknown model to star was Katie Braadvedt (Apr 2007).

Georgia Frost is another example of a girl who scored some pretty major bookings for someone who had little-to-none experience.
I think, really, you are only judging Alice because she was on the show. No more, no less. If she hadn't been on the show and was just a 'new face' model who happened to book the cover, I doubt you'd be questioning her legitimacy to such a degree.
Ohh god thank you!!! Not a re-print cover again!!! Thank u.
