I'm finally able to post a reply and I'm choosing this thread to be my maiden post!
Will Alice be a confirmed model on the Blumarine runway next season since she's in their campaign?

not always, she was in the D&G campaign last season and didn't walk for their SS 09 shows, as we all know her milan season this year was very odd.

Yup, that's odd. But isn't it because she had "personal reasons and exacerbated professional outcomes" as per post #2003?
I didn't know the meaning of exacerbated and checked it out = irritated.(the meaning)
Maybe she was rejected there by D&G? Or she had been to many castings and didn't get chosen? I knew she was at Rodarte castings but never made it on the runway.

But usually, a model who does the campaigns ends up on the runway right?

In this context, excacerbated means she had a bad week due to personal reasons, and it was made worse by professional outcomes. That could mean anything from not being picked for a particular show, to not being picked by any of them (which obviously happened in the end).

Referring to post #2003, we'll be seeing Alice on the Haute Couture runway from the 26th January 2009 - 28th January 2009.

Due to this article,

She will be back in Paris early next year for its Spring/Summer haute couture fashion week and has already signed on to some big names including Christian Lacroix and Collette Dinnigan.

Keep your eyes, and fingers peeled on January 27th, since it's the day of the Christian Lacroix haute couture runway show. As to Collette Dinnigan, there's not going to be any sign of her this season.

I wonder what show she will be doing on the first day? Hopefully it's Armani or Dior, or anyone

Somebody on Twop asked Ozboy who'll be the designers and/or the models to watch for in Paris and this is his response:

I hope that Alice will make an impact. Expect to see seasoned walkers return, such as georgina (huge last couture season), Alyona, Karmen, Karlie and Aline, etc. There will be some returning older favourites. Of the newbies, there will be sigrid agren (my personal favourite), Jourdan Dunn, Liu Wen, Anya K, Anna S, Myf and a few others will be giving it a red hot go.

As for the designers, Galliano always brings it for Dior. Chanel is quite majectic this season. Other bigger houses like Givenchy, Gaultier and Lacroix are rumoured to have supreme collections coming. I expect to see Alice in a couple of those, but I will remain tight-lipped on castings until they are finalised.

I'm so excited!

not that i'm trying to sound pessimistic here... but we shoudn't get all excited about predictions...coz sometimes, they just don't come true...

Unfortunately I cannot kick it off with any positive news about Alice after spending NYE with some of the fashion elite.

It seems as though all of the major campaigns have been cast and Alice has not scored anything for spring/summer 09. How very dissapointing, but not unexpected. My only concern is that this will take some heat out of her coming into couture this month and ready to wear in Feb/March. Meisel came close to choosing her twice, but didn't since he didn't think she could carry only-girl campaigns just yet.

I think I agree with Meisel. But he likes her, that's for sure. I'm pretty happy with this news actually.

oh **** i hope this doesnt change her buzz for couture!! it would be amazing to see her do couture...she has the height and the look!! and her blank canvas face can turn into a dramatic one..so flawlessly!!

I think the important thing to consider there is that he ALMOST chose her twice--that means he must dig her look at least a little, and maybe she's not ready for only girl now, but will be soon. And hey, if he likes her at all, maybe he'll cast her for a few eds or something soon--that'd be SERIOUS good news for her, I mean, it's Meisel! I'm more than content with her Blumarine ads. I have nothing but faith that she'll continue to get bigger. Maybe not immediately but she will!
