3 quick questions:

your best editorial........tell the xperience
how is the process of your work when u have an editorial
did u meet a big name of the industry?(on any field:model, photographer,tc,etc,)

regards, Tony

my best editorial is ...in my opinion...something that did not get published...

it was my apocolyptic joan of arc story...

shot in an industrial toxic waste site on a riverbank in NJ...
i tore and distressed a lot of the clothes and mixed vintage and designer and had an amazing model who really looked like jaon of arc (jade parfitt) http://www.vogue.co.uk/beauty/trade_secrets/inner.asp?tsID=1 ... used the galliano neswprint leggings...all the clothes were to look like they had been through a nuclear holocaust...and that she had just found them and put them on...
it wasn't really about the experience that time...it was really about the pictures...the idea was all mine and i directed the whole thing...so the pictures had been in my head for years...it was just good to finally be able to hold them in my hands... they are still my favourites and what i am most proud of...very close to my heart...she looks very heroic..like a warrior...'bring on the revolution'...

the magazine didn't publish them because they said they were too 'strong' for them...i had her face all smudged...rags tied in her hair (which was long at the time)...and i think that's what put it over the edge for them...it was a pretty mainstream mag...spanish harper's bazaar...

so that's the process ... i come up with an idea...and then i find the clothes to make it happen and the right photographer to shoot it...i have a bunch of story ideas that i go to when i need one...i don't really do 'trend' stories...

and yes...i have met many "names"... but i don't like to name drop or gossip... one thing i can tell you is that they are all just people...some nice...some not so nice...and you can tell a lot about a photographer or stylist/editor by looking at their work...

:flower:

hey softgrey

wow it seems great job....how bad the didnt publish it,sometimes mags are really conservative or restricted on what they think could publish or not....i used to like spanish bazaar but suddenly it stops to arrive here (Lima) i enjoyed when they did original eds then it came like a crisis and it was 100% reprint and i think now they are doing original stuff....am i right?

about the process,im curious,do u do editorials and then show to different magazines to see which publish it?...or they call u to do some editorial....

regarding the big name,i didnt ask for gossip or anything,i wanted to know if your work lead u to them...yes their work reflects everything is like the eyes......

thanks 4 all......tony

ps btw are u a girl or a boy?

i am female...hardly a girl... :P

not sure about harper's bazaar these days...you're right...they changed...they used to be based in mexico...but i think now they are based in miami and it is completely different...i never see it anymore...
about the other question...i have done both...but now i really do things that i am hired to do...or just personal work... :flower: i do less editorial than i used to because it is very little $$$ ... so i only do things that really interest me... most magazines really bore me these days...

what do you do in lima tony?...

Sounds amazing! I envy you so much. You are doing something that I have always wanted to do, but never followed it. More of a dream, I guess. :flower:
