its reminding me slightly of sonia rykiel.

It's not bad, but I can't say that it's exciting. But very good for everyday/office wear. :flower:

true - its not really anything new or innovative. pretty though. my office is much MORE conservative than that! you'd love it!

oh yes indeeedy. I am wearing a dress over trousers today & getting all sorts of comments from all the patriarchs that run this place!!!!

Whoah! the Norfolk shooting-tweeds end of the conservative spectrum

Nice topic Helena. I really like her. She is extremely well known for her textile and rug design...some are absolutely stunning and I know many artists collect her work. I like some of the clothes from her collection but as fashion design is somewhat new for her I think we have to wait and see. That said, I haven't seen her clothes in person, have you? If so, what are the fabrics like, etc...

I have never been to her shop but my husband has & he thinks its lovely. He bought me one of her summer kaftans last year - it was good for the beach. I never seem to have time when I am in London to hike over to Sloane Sq where her shop is. Have you?:flower:

Your husband sounds like a very nice man...lucky you! No I haven't been to her shop...I haven't been to London in about three years. I would very much like to go bc I like her work with textiles/rugs so much...I can't wait to see the clothes in person.

I hope you get to visit soon then. Just been looking at the rugs which are very nice - I wonder how much they are...

yeah, me too! and i don't even know why.....
nice clothes, btw, very wearable and pretty....:p

i like the styling of the collection better than the collection itself...
just goes to show that good styling can make anything look good...
she started out with a collection of only kaftans....and has only recently branched out into the full clothing line...maybe 2-3 seasons now...

i can't say i hate it ...but i really don't see the reason for another collection like this...don't we already have enough of this basic stuff?...can't you get this look from reiss or banana republic?...for a fraction of the price...;)

thanks for the link helena...and for the record...i've seen her stuff in the showroom... didn't impress me much... still think the kaftans are the best thing she does...
