Allure April 2017 : Dilone, Imaan Hammam & Aamito Lagum by Patrick Demarchelier

Yes yes yes!!!!!!!!! I loved, this is way better than US Vogue, and I'm beyond glad Aamito is part of this! These three girls are amazing.

wow. love this. Allure and Vogue are both killing it with covers this month, I think!!!

What a beautiful cover! It's immensely strong. The composition from dark to light works, and the fact that these girls have different strengths works for me. So happy for all three, especially Aamito, who is not a face you'd generally see on magazine covers. Least of all Allure.

I wish it wasn't marketed as a 'diversity' cover. Feels gimmicky because the Allure reader knows that very well that beauty comes in different shades, the magazine was probably one of the most diverse in the US even under Wells. Also, diversity doesn't just mean black, Latina and Middle Eastern. Where are the Asian girls? Lucy Liu's cover was 17 years ago.

As much as I love the cover, I hate that's it's being billed as the Diversity Cover, do they know what Diversity actually means? Besides I think this cover could sell itself based on just how beautiful it is, they could have saved the Diversity coverline on a cover with multiple ethnicities on the cover. Fei Fei, Issa, Lakshmi, there's so many different types of beauty now, that this almost seems like a missed opportunity. It's almost dated, this is the same type of Diversity cover US Elle would produced back in the eighties, the country is far more diverse now.

They all look gorgeous, but my eyes still immediately go to Imaan. She's such a star, I love seeing her everywhere.

Absolutely agree with you, this diversity thing is getting boring year after year, beauty is beauty. Now having said that this is really one of Allure´s BEST BEST BEST covers in all time WOW they look sensational. Gorgeoussssss:heart::flower:

It's crazy how Allure can go from the most horrible cover ever (March with Allison Williams) to this stunning cover... all three girls look absolutely beautiful and compliment each other very well. I love the serene expression they have.

Agree! What a great surprise to see her here!

This is just sublime, shame for the diversity tagline, unnecessary in an otherwise perfect cover.

No Asian models when they talk about the beauty of diversity.

Blimey, all the awkward posing and basic styling actually makes the editorial perfect! Imaan aside, the other two girls are probably the least commercial models in the biz, but they delivered here.

if you visit their website, you'll see all of the women they profiled.
They have included asian women in their list.

Maybe Solaris was talking about the cover, but even generally, people get less riled up over the absence of Asian models. Can't recall when last I've seen an Asian model in French or British Vogue, let alone the cover. And so much inspiration gets extracted from that region, it's not even funny.

The contents of the issue are actually really amazing, as well - as much as I love the cover (so, so stunning), I was worried that they'd shy away from race-related issues, but the women that are profiled inside of the issue are very upfront with racism within their respective professions. Overall, I think it's well done.

I don't even have words for how completely breathtaking that editorial (and the accompanying video) is. All three women simply radiate JOY and confidence. They are sublime!

Imaan is my current obsession - she's just on another level and I hope her star continues to rise (right now she's got more 2017 Vogue covers than any other model, even Gigi). But Dilone and Aamito are stunning in this as well. Such gorgeous smiles - it's like they're lit from within.

Aamito is my fave here. Her skin is just amazing. Loveeeeee this cover and spread.:heart::wub:

Allure, you did it right for once!! All three girls are absolutely gorgeous, with genuine smiles and natural hair. I'm so happy right now ahhh!!!

Stunning. Beyond words.

Although, I'm having trouble with the tag line. It speaks of Diversity, and yet it states "41 women of color..." it should've been "41 women" alone. Because the idea of focusing on women of color alone runs counter with "diversity". Though I haven't seen the issue in its entirety, so maybe there's more inside.

Maybe I'm taking it literally.

I think you are. The issue speaks to 41 women on the challenges they face, navigating the world in their skin. The idea that Allure should carve out slots for them to discuss the difficulties of possessing white skin (especially with all that's going on right now) would be insensitive to the point of laughability.

Hope I explained that okay -- tried my best to not be condescending about it.

Stellar cover and story. There is not a single thing about this that I don't love!
