I suppose if you want to shoot a Youtuber for the type of magazine cover that will be on newsstands for weeks, you have to seek out the one with the least amount of drama and intrigue. Pity, because though Emma Chamberlain lacks drama she certainly makes up for it with juvenile, inane content that looks like it was created for Bustle. Hardly something Allure should be promoting. You're a beauty magazine, why not go for a beauty vlogger instead? One that isn't problematic? This is what happens when you hire an editor who has no understanding of the beauty industry. Michelle Lee is running this magazine as if it's a lifestyle magazine. Beauty first!

These terrible covers are the byproducts of the EIC. Its as if Anna tells magazines which cover image to use and what font to use.

I find this ongoing trend of always blaming Anna for everything troublesome. Literally, Michelle Lee is at the helm and yet every condemnation belongs to Anna.

Assuming that Anna really does call the shots for each and every CN magazine cover and feature, I find it funny when people blame Anna for every terrible cover Condé Nast magazines make, but fail to applaud her for the better covers.

A quick Google search informed me who Emma Chamberlain actually is, because I had zero clue otherwise (and evidently I don’t need to).

A non-event of an appearance for me but it’s a perfectly OK cover image, has an American Vogue quality to it and I’ve certainly seen worse. Perhaps a downgrade from last month, though.

God this looks like a teen vogue shoot- but literally any of the inside photos would have made for a better cover photo than the one they chose.

If you wanted to drive sales, gain views and turn your magazine into a talking point, there's no shortage of youtubers that could be featured on the front.

But of course, such choices would interfere with the magazine's quest to accumulate 'woke' points, which won't count for much on the financial spreadsheets.
