okay finally i saw the show

my thoughts in white ---> jason castro...fabulous.! i love this kid...he is so original, unique and cool....he has such a good feel for each and every song he picks...i wish he would have slowed the song down tonight just a bit but it really was one of his best...i'm glad he did well because he really deserves to stay in the comp.

david cook...ok, i have to agree with simon....there was something so pompous about it.! i was really disappointed....the song was too 'punk rocker' i think...not a smart choice, it didnt showcase his vocals...the band and backup singers drowned him out...and i got the sense that is getting a bit too confident in his abilities....he is so talented and has really won me over the last few weeks but i felt this performance was arrogant and that really turned me off...

david archuleta...i dont really like angels as a song but he did it very well...i was SO glad to see him strip it back and just sing with the piano...very smart move...he sings his best when he sits down, connects and just lets his voice do the work....he has such a sublime voice...i didnt think it was his best, mainly because i didnt love the song choice, but at this point everything he does is pretty flawless...

syesha...great voice, there's no denying that....i think her voice gets stronger each week and vocally she deserves to be there but i completely agree with simon's comment about having no sense of who she is as an artist...that is my only complaint with her week after week...she imitates all the other 'big' voices in the industry and doesnt have anything unique going on....so i was a bit bored, but great song choice, i thought.

carly....hated the song choice...completely agree with simon [again] that it came across as angry which was really inappropriate...she was pitchy, for once.! it just didnt do her voice any favours....i wouldnt be surprised if she was in the bottom 3 after this one...she seems like a nice girl but she isnt particularly unique either

kristy...ive been wanting kristy to go for weeks but i must admit tonight was the best i've seen her...i still think, however, that it's her time to go.

brooke...well, everyone knows brooke won me over from the very beginning so i automatically adore everything she does.. i thought this was one of her strongest performances vocally but my biggest critique is that she does nothing new with the songs...every week she interprets them very literally and sings them note for note the way the originals were sung....there's a lack of creativity in her arrangements which is going to bore people and will risk her spot in the comp...i really think she needs to switch things up...but as always, she's genuine and heartfelt and lovely.

i have no idea who's going to leave....i think carly, syesha and kristy lee should be bottom 3....and kristy should go....though i wouldnt be surprised if carly left either

funny how almost all of them said something about how you agreed with simon! its always like that for me too, because as much as some people hate him (which i dont really understand... )...EVERYTHING he says is always spot on!

im excited for idol gives back tonight!

yeah...i know he can be cranky but for the most part he is spot on....there are moments where i think he completely 'misses' the point of a performance but i respect that he comes from a certain perspective and he really is pretty accurate in his criticism most of the time...plus i know this is terrible but i find him very attractive

i'm excited too.! bit confused about when they're airing the results show here in aus though....

i think annie lennox was my favourite of the night...she is so powerful...

fergie was awesome too...especially the collaboration with heart...that was cool

carrie underwood was fabulous...girl can sing.!!!

and robin williams as russian idol....that guy is the funniest thing alive

oh...and the idol finalists...they sounded amazing singing the song from rent.!

do you think people start to relax and think certain contestants are 'safe' and so rely on the fact that they think others are going to be voting for them.? somehow i think that's what happened here....a bit of a miscalculation on the part of the voters, because from all the feedback i'm hearing, no one is happy about this.

It's hard to know. Nothing annoys me more when Simon says "oh I think YOU know that you picked the wrong song last night' it's like shut up! are you in my mind? It's like he's presuming to speak for people and that annoys me. I don't know where it's that people thought this person was safe or just didn't enjoy them that much, but there are about 5 people who should have gone before this person!

adorefaith, i COMPLETELY agree. people assume that people like archuleta and cook will be safe and so dont bother voting...so i think the same thing happened here. horrible.

My favorite too! I was so angry. It really sucks that the people that have more talent get beat out by average singers due to popularity.

I hear that instead of Mariah Carey, they are doing Billboard Top 100 songs in honor of her getting her eighteenth number one. I hope so- I love David Cook and Jason Castro, but they would be screwed with Mariah music.

i think kristy should go...she is the weakest singer and performaner imo.and i really like brooke white...she is so pure and her voice is so affecting..and i really like what she has wore on the show.
