Ooooh, me too! I lived in New Orleans from the time I was six months old until I was eight or nine (my younger sister was born there) and I loved it. We lived in a really nice neighborhood just outside of the Quarter. I'm jealous too, but glad that they live there instead of Califormia. Seems somehow like it might suit the family better.

When I was a kid, Bourbon St (and the whole Quarter for that matter) was so much different than it was just before Katrina. The strip clubs and neon signs weren't there and, believe it or not, it was nicer. There were old jazz musicians playing on every street corner instead of only near Jefferson Square as they were pre-Katrina. It was beautiful in those days old days (the late 1960's and early 1970's). I haven't been back since Katrina hit and I'm hoping that the Quarter is re-gentrified more in the "old style" and with any luck, now that people like Angelina and Brad are there and the movie industry is giving a much needed economic boost to the community, a more positive influence will be felt.Captain_Lydia said:I only got to visit pre-katrina for about a week and it was the only city I ever felt at home in, even with the horrible humidity. I just loved the atmosphere and the food! MY GOD! If I lived there I'd probably be 500pds![]()
