i agree somewhat too..in the very young shots you can tell she is searching..
and just not really wanting to be there...desperate to figure things out..
but i think as the years go on you see her come into herself..
even if she wasnt as self assured as she is now, i liked the 'wild' years..
it was great to see someone be so open and honest about their problems and their challenges...and to see her just put it out there and be brave enough to let people interpret it however they will..
i often think when i look back at old photos how painful or awkward they must be for her...because they clearly show that side of herself that was lost and, as you say, probably trying on different identities to see which one felt like 'her'..
she does look like she's 'trying' in a lot of the shots i posted...but i find it endearing...kind of like 'hey...i'm not the only young woman struggling to find myself...it's OK'...
it's been great to watch her transform..
