If they're lucky, most moms receive flowers or a card on Mother's Day.
But Angelina Jolie is not your ordinary mother.
The 38-year-old was given personalised gifts from her six children on Sunday, including a gold ring designed by her son Knox.
'Brad’s really creative with the kids, so they made a bunch of things like pillows and notebooks,' the actress told People in a new interview. 'Knoxy made me a picture of Maleficent that they made into a ring.'
Meanwhile, Knox's twin sister Vivienne gave her famous mother more practically-minded gifts.
'Vivi made me stationery and pillows for my office,' said Angeline, who is currently promoting her new film Maleficent, due for release on May 30.
Pax, 10, meanwhile, took her on a trip down memory lane.
'I loved Goofy when I was little. So Pax drew me a Goofy shirt. I wore that with a crown Vivienne found for me,' said the Oscar winner.
In the same interview, Angelina not only confirmed that she will marry partner of nine years Brad but has even named the wedding planners - her own children.
Angelina said she and Brad may end up wearing camouflage in a paintball wedding extravaganza if their kids get their way.
The Girl, Interrupted star explained that she and Brad, 50, will get married but that they are in no rush.
'We will get married, and we're not in a rush, so we're just waiting for it to be the right time with the kids, with work, when it feels right,' Angelina said. 'We talk about it occasionally, and the kids talk about it with us.
'We all kind of think about how we imagine it or what it might be. So we've started to do that but we haven't made any definite plans'
Although, she went on to explain that the children's vision of the wedding is 'verging on hysterical'.
'But we are discussing it with the children and how they imagine it might be. Which is verging on hysterical, how kids envision a wedding,' the Mr And Mrs Smith star said. 'They will in a way be the wedding planners.
'It's going to be Disney or paintball - one or the other!'
Adding: 'We've got a lot of different personalities in the house. They've got some strong opinions. It will be fun. That's the important thing.
'When we do it, it will feel like a great day for our family.'
In the same interview, Angelina also talked about her plans to have her ovaries removed, following her double mastectomy last year.
She says that following her surgery in 2013 she is 'feeling really good.'
Adding: 'I'm really happy about the choices I've made, and I feel even more connected to other people, especially other women.'
Angelina shares six children with Brad - who she has been partners with since 2005 - Maddox, 12, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, seven, Vivienne, five, and Knox also five.
Talking about her experience as a mother so far, she said: 'Like every parent, when you start your family, your life completely changes. And you completely live for someone else. I find that the most extraordinary thing. Your life is handed over to someone else. It's the most wonderful thing.'
