ugh! why did her and keith break up they fit so perfectly i love patti as well but her and keith....may sound cheesy 4 saying it they warmed my heart

^^Agreed. While Patti and Keith are gorgeous together.....Keith and Anita just seem so PERFECT for each other!!

I have read in interviews that Keith's lawyers told him he and Anita had to break up. They were doing so many drugs and then the drug busts. Sad.....

yeah it truly is i read he still loves her but can't live with her he said they had to part...bummer they were great

I agree. I think Anita was the love of Keith's life, and they were so perfect together. But she was too wild, I suppose. It's obvious that they each still care deeply for one another, which speaks volumes. They did go through a lot together.
Still, he and Patti seem very happy together.

More pics of Keith and Anita. Some re-posts, but better quality:

Well, I've always found Keith and Anita looked great together. However, I'm not upset or anything that they split up, cause I'm pretty sure that If they hadn't called it halts in the final hours of the 70s, they both were dead today. Really, I mean, of course noone can say for sure what was going on behind closed doors, but it's obvious that together they had a lifestile impossible to last forever. It just couldn't go on forever, unless they eventually wanted to commit suicide which I don't think was what they actually had in mind while doing all this.
Among other stories, I've read as well that lawyers had recommended them to split up, in order to get their lives back under control which obviously wasn't possible while being with each other. Keith has said it in interviews and I do believe that was one of the reasons for their breakup, but then I think Keith had also come to a point where he couldn't handle Anita anymore.
In the end, I believe, there are some reasons - some of which had been boiling for years and years and by the end of the 70s simply collided.

I hope with Keith's autobiography coming out in 2 years, we'll get to read some more points of views and statements about the whole story, really.

To conclude this, as I said, I think it's good they broke up, cause that just gave each one new chances and a start to change their livestyles. ASnd I can only repeat myself in saying that I'm quite confident they would both be dead long ago If it hadn't come like it did.
I'm very glad Patti came along the way, cause I think she saved Keith and I really couldn't thank her enough for being there!

Keith and Patti look great and fabulous together, of course. And, have you noticed there actually isn't a single photo of the two together in which Patti isn't smiling? That tells volumes, I think! They're so sweet and just happy together, most of the time. Keith definitely seems to know how to make a woman happy.

However, as good as Patti might look with her man, I just think Anita fitted better to Keith visually.
I'm glad they still have so strong feeling for one another!

Good post! I agree with you.
I have read that Keith tried to be the "tough guy" that Anita wanted him to be, like the Rastafarians in Jamaica, but just couldn't keep up with the facade any longer. If Anita would have been ready to give up drugs and settle down, they could have possibly worked things out. But then again, they could have possibly ended up dead.

And he does truly love Patti. If you've ever seen him sing "The Nearness of You" to her, it's obvious. She's a strong woman, which was/is just what he needed.

Keith is a lover of women, having been raised mostly by his mother and her six or seven sisters. He really does love women, and was pretty faithful over the years, considering the circumstances.

I can't wait for his autobiography either! :woot:

^^^^^Agree with both of you!! Very great posts.

Keith seems like he is a good man, both to Anita and Patti. I have never heard him say one bad thing about Anita in any interview. And he obviously adores Patti.

Drugs mess up the best, loving relationships. But it is a testament to the strong will of both Anita and Keith, that they did all they did and survived.

great posts i agree with you all as well

yeah keith was a good guy he seemed to stay with a woman for the long haul and i can respect a guy like that rockstar or not

his autobiography jumping out of my skin to read it!

That photo above is a still from an Anita documentary I worked on in 2002 and posted on my old MSN Anita group. Thanks for saving it.

^that shot is part of a whole series of pics for some fashion editorial, isn't it ? I've always wondered about that...

I'm not really sure. It's from the videotape I have of the documentary, in which there are a series of shots of Anita like that. Judging by her hair, they must be from '63 or '64, when she was with Catherine Harle's agency.

Anyways, here is a new one of Anita in St. Tropez, May 1967

Thanks for the photos 60swildchild & Evaladiva!

What is the documentary of Anita called, Evaladiva? Did you say you worked on it? I would love to see it!!

You're welcome!
It's called "Fame, Set & Match: Rolling with the Stones." It aired on the BBC back in 2002.
I have a videotape of it that Kirk Barber made for me so it is compatible with VCR's here in America. NTSC, I think it's called. So, the quality isn't that great. I made dozens of copies for the members of my Anita site whenever it first came out.
Now that there is better technology, I should transfer it to DVD and see if I can come up with some better-looking screen caps.
