Terrible. Ann through they eye of a basic fashion student. Such a heavy and juvenile interpretation of her work. It's not even interesting. This brand feels completely irrelevant nowadays.
Does anyone know why Ludovic was fired? Maybe @Thefrenchy heard something. The explanation was very vague.

Zara had a festival-themed collection this summer designed by Kate Moss - it‘s giving that, with a few Demeulemeester-isms thrown in for good measure. The worst is that he totally banalized the Ann Demeulemeester style by making it feel more 'indie sleaze'.

I don‘t see where this brand is headed after several years of directionless trial and error, in hopes that something might stick.

Honestly, with the bar so low, Olivier Theyskens and his investors should attempt to steal all the confused Ann Demeulemeester customers who can see through the already failed attempt to make this kid happen. He doesn‘t have it in him!

By contrast, Olivier even at his lowest has put out better collections for Theory with a similar attitude, but with the true hand of a créateur…

To a happier, dumber, more mainstream, more cartoonish place? gone are the musicians in the front row, it's now Jenna Ortega and influencers that are sponsored and dress head to toe in Sezane all year round, except for this one Halloween occasion when they get an invite for this show and dress like 'goths' from an ethereal forest lmao.

I won't even get into the clothes that, sure, look Ann D-inspired.. at Shein.

I just think it's a sad time to get into fashion, my heart goes out to the kids that are discovering the field and particularly this brand with a solid foundation, and the faces of this introduction are not legit models who pushed the boundaries of androgynous beauty in any way (Erin, Kim, Kirsten, Carmen Maria).. no, it's the short, obnoxious-looking child of Naomi Watts whose best shot at modeling, is doing the Billie Eilish/instagrammable/expressionless gen z stare, or Lisa Rinna with a Pisa Tower nose...

Ah I wouldn't be able to recognise them. I do remember seeing Karen Elson's daughter about a year or two ago on TikTok where she was mocking her mom's modeling career as if it was meaningless (clearly not meaningless enough to not secure her a spot at a show months later!). I had an interesting impression of this nepokid and maybe actively tried (and succeeded!) to forget her damn face lol.
