Ann Demeulemeester

That's it, I'm going to NYC! First the Cloak flagship then this?

Does anyone know if Atelier take phone orders out of the country?

PS: kLM, did you find a suit for your wedding, or did you get Cloak to alter your suit or something?

Hold your horses. Not only this season's selection is tiny at Atelier, it is not that impressive (and you can take it from their number one fan). What Hint meant is that Atelier purchased a large collection for next S/S from her first standalone menswear show. BTW, I am first on the waiting list for the feather necklaces  .

I don't think they ship out of the country, but you can ask them.

Fragrance, heh? I wonder if they were joking. If not, this is definitely Ann Chapelle's hand in there...

I´d be very curious how Ann Demeulemeester would *smell* ... other free-spirited designers also did well with perfume (Helmut Lang, Rei Kawakubo, Hedi Slimane, to name a few), why not Ann? Ohhh, and I gotta get my hands on one of those feather necklaces too, it´s beautiful ...

Me too, me too - it's just an initial knee-jerk reaction. It would smell like Patty Smith, I bet

BTW, I liked neither Helmut's nor Hedi's colognes :ninja:

Aww, I was looking for this shirt from the fall collection in particular:

Do you know if they had any? Anyways, I'm glad there's at least one stockist for the menswear in North America.

Actually, I think they did :woot: . Little know fact, but Jeffrey also stocks Ann Dem, but just two-three pieces and boots. I have a feeling that with the new management there'll be more stocklists coming.

When you enter the Designers and Collections forum

http://www.thefashionspot.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=60

you will see a blue button right about the first thread, it says "New Thread." Click it.

Welcome to tFS, btw. I like it how we are getting more and more Belgian members ^_^:flower:

Comparison of Ann Demeulemeester

Actually, she is one of a kind. But what if you would compare other designers to her? Which designer might have the same direction or atmosphere or style?

She is one of a kind, but if I had to make references

Raf Simons
Hedi Slimane for Dior Homme (especially Luster/Strip collections)
Rick Owens
PHI (except the current collection)

Welcome to tFS. We have a big general thread on Ann Demeuelmeester (as well as threads on individual collections), search in Designers and Collections.

Mods, I think this should be merged with the general Ann Demeulemeester thread. Thank you :flower:

oh,almost forgot. Actaully desingers I'm thinking of are veronique branquinho, xavier delcour. But xavier is kinda too rock for me, well,Ann is rocky too but more romantic.

VB, hmmm... maybe some womenswear, yes. Not the menswear, though, I don't think so.

Xavier, yes, somewhat. I think he is creatively stuck though. His collections seem really repetitive, while Ann always finds room for a different perspective while working in the same vein.

By the way, check my blog (the link is in my sig) for a nice profile of Ann ^_^

I cannot give you karma yet so I have to say in this thread that the ann d profile on your page was very nice :) Oh hey look it's actually on topic kinda! :)

I just visited your homepage, faust. It's really nice profile of Ann :-) And I've never seen any website of her, probably in the future.

i wonder how much is the shirt that drexl pointed there, i'm aftering that one too...
i just need to own it.

How is Ann Demeulemeester men's wear selling on ebay these days? I'm contemplating listing a black Ann D suit but I'd like to get a half decent price for it (like 30 or 40% of the original hefty retail).
