it's black and white portraits only. a few of them, but not full page, it's not properly an ed, there's an accompanying article with the photos

They said that because the overall theme of that whole ANTM season was anti-bullying, and they chose Ann as the poster child for the anti-bullying campaign.

I mean, why on Earth would anyone book Ann for a Versace show, of all brands.

So you're actually saying that Tyra has had some type of a contract with each booker/designer on the show, obligated to feel sorry for Ann? Isn't it pretty obvious by now that Franca makes the final decision on who stays and who wins?

How can you say that she isn't a Versace girl when Constance(80's classic), Karli(commercial) and Freja(modern edgy) are doing the show? Versace has a range, they aren't limited to a specific client profile. Why wouldn't they book her for Versace show? Versace is after all Italy's biggest pret a porter brand and something that's representative of Italy towards the out-world. Everybody has heard of Versace.

This is also an American TV show directed towards the massmedia and not fashion insiders, whereby Versace gives credibility and ratings to the show.

I actually think she does look like a model. The 2nd shot with the text is so ethereal. It's also the one shot with her mouth almost closed. She needs to relax her mouth because the 2nd shot is magic.

For all the people here who are criticizing ann! let us wait for next season...she is just a newcomer thats why she isn't getting that much attention..being an exclusive for a high profile fashion brand will boost her career immediately..LARA STONE was so editorial yet in her first season when she went to paris and milan,no one gave her much attention but it took only one eye who says she can make it and lets feature her in vogue..and everyones talking about her now see..lets all believe in her

I don't think Woman would burn their fingers on her, next of ford would be good agency's for her.

Anyway, the ed. is okay, not really special but it's fine.
The comparision with Lara Stone doesn't really make sence if you look at the model herself, cause Lara always had strong work and a strong look but she was different (boobs, gap) however when she switched from Elite to IMG the big money came (so that part did make sence).
Other girls who have something else like Daphne Groeneveld or killerbones like Emily Baker have been booked for every big show and big work.
I think they need to do a drastic change, something that makes her different. For me she is just a pretty model with okay modelskills.

Lara was around 5 or so years before she ever became big. And she only became big when she went to IMG and they pushed for her. She also has that cool girl appeal and looks like briggite bardot.

Ann has none of Lara's appeal. A lot of people in this thread are in the industry and know people in they industry and the industry isn't taking to Ann. She went on go sees this season and got nothing because she wasn't right for high fashion.

^ Well you can mark me down as at least one person in the industry who HAS taken to Ann Ward and im sure she has any number of other supporters who are in the industry as well, so blatant generalizations arent always true regardless of one person's opinion yay or nay. Fashion is subjective and differs for each, and thank god for that, it keeps things interesting at the very least.
