"You don't need to act, you need to be" - that must be Anna's own approach to acting  She's so effortless in the complex characters she plays.
Those screencaps are gorgeous, Karina, thank you! I particularly love the Chanel sweater (with the diamond star neckline) that she's wearing. Oddly, it doesn't look extravagant or over-the-top on her...

I know! Anna is really an incredible actress. Like in this film her character is disturbed and quite manic. There's a scene when she keeps hitting her face and I thought she was extraordinary!:woot:
And I know what you mean about the Chanel sweater. I thought it was vulgar when it debuted on the catwalk-but on Anna it looks so charming:blush:
Glad you like the screencaps, although the film is lit very dark so it's quite hard to really see Anna in some scenes :p

French Elle this week

Anna is in French Elle this week. 4 pictures taken by Karl Lagerfeld.
Not sure about her hair but she looks v. good otherwise. She also talks about her projects.
Nice article

Can you translate the article and post it? If you have time...:)

I have this issue! Just got it today!:woot: I can scan and post it in 2hrs or so, but only if Violette can't. Let me know :flower:

article

Elle France - 19 Feb

Hi there!
Not much time to translate. Tried scanning but failed miserably.

At the end of the article Anna talks about how she met the father of her baby, Samuel Benchetrit. Saying that it's in January 2006 that he contacted her about a role in his 2nd feature film. 'I've already dreamt to play a gangster' she says. It's a black and white film. Anna is the only female character.

'We started filming at the beginning of last year, then Sergio Lopez had an accident, then we had a fire, then we ran out of money. When we started filming again in November I was 5 months pregnant. In April everything should be finished, the film and the baby'

In the autumn she'll be filming her own project. She's already written the scenario, between reading Proust and Dolto. 'Pregnancy is a really creative period'.

^Sounds like she's going to be busy for a while! Great news, I'm glad she's having a good pregnancy

Can you believe that Anna is wearing sequinned hotpants when 7 months pregnant!

Here are my scans of the French Elle issue. :flower:

^ ugh! unfair! :D thanks karina ... i love those shots but the last one reminds me of those "got milk" ads ... she's gorgeous though

That's exactly what I thought when I saw that picture!
I'm not a big fan of Karl's photo style. He never manages to show a connection with his subject, they never seem to reveal anything about themselves or capture a different side to them...sorry I've seen behind footage of him taking studio photos and literally he has all these assistants hand him the camera all set up, he takes one photo and then hands it back to them. Not studious and not spontaneous!:innocent:
Sorry I had to get that off my chest!

^ i say it's good that's over and done with. yeah, it's quite technical ... but when his subject is someone like anna, i personally don't care as much ... now about those hot pants, why must she show off such inequalities in life?

photos

Thanks for the scans:flower: . Was having a nightmare trying to upload them.

Completely agree about the Lagerfeld photo style. I think he makes his subjects seem very wooden, however beautiful they are.

Anna's hairstyles is also very bouffon, esp on the ones where she wears a white top for some reason. I love the hot pants pic and the reclining one. She just looks so amazing for a 7 1/2 pregnant woman. Guess some have it all!

Karina I think I genuinely love you!!!:woot::woot::woot:

I made a translation of the article. I summerised all the editorial bits but I translated as faithfully as possible Anna's quotes (in bold).

She only did those pictures because of Karl. "I am not struck by the exhibitionism that some pregnant women have". She insisted no flesh was to be shown, especially not her belly.

She still wears the same clothes and says “You are never more a woman than when you are pregnant”. She says: “As soon as you are pregnant, people you barely know begin to share their intimacy with you. First it’s about miscarriage then alcohol. Everybody think they are entitled to give you their opinion, to touch you. It is weird, this new relationship."

She gave up her motorcycle but still occasionally drinks and smokes. “As soon as I lit a cigarette, I feel like people are ready to shoot me. tobacco is not that great, for sure. But I diminished, which is quite an achievement considering ma addictive nature.”

[Harumi says: pregnancies in France are treated like some kind of illness. You have to do loads of exams and tests and babies are brought up my doctors, not nurses].

Anna: “Scans (?) [Harumi: I mean the belly scans, you know?], prelevements, the fact that you know the sex before the birth… people talk about the unborn child like a subject, a patient, everything is made to generate stress. Lots of people experience pregnancy as an illness, you become a patient. I read an article in ‘Le Monde’ who explained that watching pregnancies that much will lead to the selections of babies.”

Her baby will be born in March and in April she will go back to work (a play).
She lives with Samuel and his 8 years-old son with the late Marie Trintignant, Jules. “Seeing him is what made me want a child. Jules is an exceptional little boy, he is not just a child, he is a individual. I never dreamt of making a family until meeting his dad.”

About the film: “I started filming at the beginning of last year, then Sergi Lopez had an accident, then the set took fire, then we run out of money. When we started filming again in January I was 5 month pregnant. In April, everything should be over: the movie and the baby. It took me 28 years to find myself”.

She didn’t have any craving, morning sickness nor illnesses [harumi says: I think we can all officially hate her now] which doesn’t help her stop her excesses. But she doesn’t stand being disrespected now: “It is out of the question that someone talks to me rudely, I deal with it immediately”.
She writes her own movie: “pregnancy is a great period of creativity”.
[Karl] has photographed Samuel (who supports Segolène Royal for presidency). At Chanel, the body is never exhibited, the woman is never an object, a product of consommation. It’s rare.”
:heart::heart::heart:

beautiful woman, elegant and unique. She's also a very good actress. Very impressive.

She gave up her motorcycle

Oh my God. Oh my God WHAT.

She rides a motorcycle. That woman is so perfect.

Apart from that I think that pregnant women in general are the most gorgeous thing in the world. Love love love.

Thanks so much karina. :flower: Anna Mouglalis is absolutely gorgeous. :woot: She looks incredible preganant and I know they are editorial pictures but it's nice to see she hasn't compromised her style.

Thanks so much for translating that interview Harumi :flower: Her personality seems every bit as wonderful as her beauty and sense of style

She should definitely stop smoking while pregnant BUT that is odd about how they treat pregnancy in France. In the States you can't even have wine or people will look at you like a freak...LOL

lol I know that French physicians don't mind you having a glass of wine now and then when pregnant. I think it's the same in Spain (at least my aunt while pregnant in spain was told it was fine)

Most doctors pointedly exaggerate the effect of alcohol, tobacco and medicines on embryos to avoid gross abuse.
It is in reality not that bad, though nothing near ideal, obviously. Famous example of women who smoked though all their pregnancies include Jackie Kennedy and Caroline of Monaco.
