Apple's iPhone

Fashiongrrrl - Yeah i just read that too. Daang!!! I have a 2 year contract with Verizon.

Gwen - No you can still use the web browser after unlocking it. And you're right, the new verison 1.1.2 is not yet able to be unlocked, but you can still jailbreak or downgrade it or something, which i'd never do. It's too much work. I just switched to Verizon a few months ago after AT&T and there's no way i'm gonna switch back to it. However, i'm still getting myself an iphone and use it as an ipod until i get crazy enough to open another line for my own (which seems like i will, BAHA). Here's another question,

"About connections, not all earplugs/headsets will fit into the jack since it’s reported to be a extra deep connection. Some accessory manufacturers are going to sell $40 adaptors just to get their standard earphone jacks to work with the iPhone properly. Be ready to add $40 to your purchase price! "

Is it true ?!
It does have a different head phone jack but it comes with a set of headphones. I have yet to buy another pair because mine work perfectly. Unless you want one that's wireless or not an ear bud, you don't need to buy a pair of headphones.

^ I also have a BB and I prefer my iPhone hands down. Really the only thing the BB is good for is email. I adore my BB because of the network (it's reliability---I have T-mobile) and the email but other than that it sucks as a multimedia device, which is why I got an iPhone. I'm much more of a multimedia person. If all you want is a phone with good email then I'd suggest a BB over an iPhone because the iPhone's not very realiable as an email device (not having its own outgoing mail server like BB and also being on AT&T's network). If you want something to take photos, download photos, music, movies, videos, surf the web etc. DEFINITELY get the iPhone because you won't be doing any of that on a BB.

With that said I still want to upgrade my BB to a Curve.

You have t mobile AND att??

My brothers loves his iphone so so much i thought i would almost hurt his feelings if I got the curve instead  I like it more than I thought I would. I tried typing on my brothers once and I had so much trouble but I got used to it and its faster than the curve. Internet is a lot better than the curve but theres no camera zoom and you cant get picture texts. It's kind of insulting that they made the battery not removable when it's such an easy change so the phone wont last more than about 1-1.5 years no matter how you take care of it. I got a $40 replacement package for that reason. There are some little things I dont like about it but overall I really like it and the touch screen makes it easier to use.

The guy that sold me the phone texted me asking me out later on  Using his work to get girls numbers!!

^^ ha ha that made me laugh lol What did you say??
I have an ipod touch but i was wondering if the iphone wireless headphones will work on it. I would just rather not be so wired up you know? lol
And if so, does anyone have a link.
I am still to get an iphone but i dont really see the point when i spent $400 on an ipod touch when I went on holiday!

ilovepink i said no  he was nice but didnt seem like my type.

I just found a huge flaw with the ipod - NO RINGTONES AND GAMES!!! I tried to buy some and theres iphone under "Select a phone". I really love it but I wouldnt have goten it had a I known this. I hope they come out with stuff for it soon.

I think Apple will be offering ringtones in the near future, probably through the iTunes service.

I really like the 'HTC Tytn II' phone. I saw it at the mall and it was pretty cool - a little thick, but I love the full keypad. I'll probably get one (or it's sucessor) once I start uni.

^I just got an iPhone.. I don't like the ringtones, they're pretty awful , still trying to work out how to use it and get the net and email on it. Can you only use the internet and email through wifi or does it connect through the phone carrier?

You can connect through the carrier but maybe you need to add it to your package? Go to setting and email to set up your email and it worked for me.

^thank you! it's a bit different because it's not actually available in Australia yet, but i got it as a gift and its been hacked to work with Australian networks. it works as a phone so far

If you want to hack your iphone/i touch (which 70% users did, 20% didn't know what it is and 10% too afraid to try), you can have games and cool third party applications on it. I have learnt how to unlock and jailbreak the 1.1.1 iphone (1.1.2, jailbreak only) and it should only take 30 minutes. It will turn your iphone/i touch into a gameboy with more than 100 nes games, works with any GSM simcard and you can use it around the world (you can even add $5.99 t-zone data plan). Have you ever tried the iphysic ?! It's freaking awesome. You can also use a customed theme instead of the plain boring black background on the menu screen.

Ringtones are available on itune, 99c each plus the cost of the song. LAME!! You can pick your own favorite mp3 song and use it as a ringtone. Of course, have to hack it first.

The thing is, once you hack your iphone, you have violated the warranty policy. If anything happens to your iphone, god is your only friend now, not their customer service anymore. Fortunately, i have my own way to go around. There's a restore button on itune, y'all know what i'm talking about no ?! *winks*

All i'm saying is, hacking your iphone might be a little risky, but really worth it!!

See I havent been able to figure out how to set a song as a ringtone either.

Any clues?

I got my iPhone for Christmas.
And I love it, the internet is so cool on it and I'm just getting used to the typing.
The volume is brilliant for a phone as well.
But that's about as far as I've got.

Do you know if you can sort the pictures into your own album? Or do you have to have the default one as well as your iphoto one?

And texting, that's weird for me.. I can't tell if it's sent or not.. There's no message.

jess, you can tell it's sent if your text appears in a little green bubble.

So I found how to get games but I really dont like their system. You have to bookmark the apps and games you like and go online every time you want to use it. This sucks because att internet is incredibly slow if it works at all. With this and all the little things that bug me about the phone, I'm getting a blackberry next unless they make some changes.

For me the send button went green, and then went white again.. I assumed this meant that it sent but my friend never got it.. So I got confused =S Maybe it's just me xD

I'm not a big fan of games, so that doesn't really bother me. What else bugs you?

I have the iPhone and I really like it. The only thing that annoys me is that sometimes the internet does not work.

i wouldn't mind upgrading my phone and getting an iphone or BB but the problem is when you don't know where you're going to be a in a year or two (I mean which country) it's not worth signing up for a contract.

As for the person who was thinking of the HTC - i would just advise not to. I used to work in a customer service department for a major mobile carrier and people had SO many problems with the quality of HTC products.

Ianastar - if you don't mind hacking your iphone, pm me. (if something happens you can always use the restore button, but yeah... i do understand how much it costs you, so PM as your own risk)

Guessgirl11(?) - online apple games are something i'd never play with even if they pay me.

I just did the updates to the iPhone and in the process found out how to turn a song in iTunes into a Ringtone, so now you can have multiple ringtones that are songs if you want and assign them.

The annoying part is that you have to pay to download the song (99 cents) and then to turn it into a ringtone (another 99 cents). And its only some songs.

For instance...I wanted a song that I already had in my library and it was not able to be converted into a ringtone. So I searched the store and found it and it WAS...but only if I bought it AGAIN.

The cool part is that you get to edit the rington (up to 30 seconds) and pick the part of the song you want to hear when it rings, instead of standard clips that you just get from other phones.

Needless to say ... I'm happy
