Is it true that with the AT&T contract- you get billed double? I overheard someone saying their phone bill is over $200 because it's charged in advance or something?

How to create custom ringtones in GarageBand 4.1.1:
With GarageBand 4.1.1 you can export your original song, your original audio recordings, or use Apple Loops and iLife jingles to create a custom ringtone for your iPhone.
Here's what you need to do it:
GarageBand 4.1.1 or later
iTunes 7.5 or later
iPhone with software version 1.1.2 or later
Set up a cycle region that covers the area you wish to use in the GarageBand song. Note: This area must be 40 seconds or less in length.
Once the cycle area has been set, choose Share > Send Ringtone to iTunes.

hello izzie,
do you know if it's possible to use a song by a different artist, using this method. i have a couple of songs in mp3 format that i want to use,
but garageband won't open them.![]()
(((((((((((((((I think its easier to do it in iTunes and just pay the cost. Plust in iTunes you can actually select the portion of the song you want to play.

Ianastar:
it's more about principle really...I haven't paid for anything in a while, and i'm not about to start.
Izzie:
yeah, they are mp3 which i tried to open with garageband but the program won't open them. my guess is i have to convert the file into a file the program can read.
for example.
The shins - sleeping lessons.mp3
I select, open with garageband....nothing.
( i really like the intro to this song, would be a killer ringtone.)

i was all like what is iLife
but then google came through as always
iLife is the bundle;
iMovie
iPhoto
iWeb
iDVD
Garageband
and in that sense yes i do.
i'm running Mac OS X version 10.5.2
and the newest version of pretty much everything.
teach me oh great one![]()
maybe my explanation stinks, though. if you go to itunes and in the help for iphone tab you type in "how to make a ringtone," it will give you an option for how to make one in garage band. if that explanation that they give stinks, too, let me know and i'll make a tutorial with screen caps for you! B)so yeah.....
you might as well put up a tutorial izzie
not for me..of course...but for our friends who might also
be wondering how it is done.![]()

I was going to get the iphone, but over here in England, if you get it on a contract you still dont get the phone free. You still have to pay £269 which is like $538. Thats as well as paying like £50 or $100 a month. I dont think it is worth that much. The price will come down soon once the next model comes out with the bigger memory
i wish they did, but they don't. and if you buy something and the price goes down, as with the iphone with it was first released, apple will reimburse you the difference in money. and, the next model with more memory already was released. the 16gb was released about a month ago. i have it and it's wonderful!
and it's not any cheaper, it's actually $100 more expensive. the more memory, and the more upgrades apple does on the iphone? the more expensive it's gonna' get.
