I would like to ask a stupid question.. I'm technology stupid

Is it not possible for those in the UK/Europe to buy an Iphone from say, Ebay from the USA? Because with the difference in currency, they are SO much cheaper (about $400 difference) over there! Is there any kind of "lock" to prevent this? Any info is welcome

^ it depends on your phone companies dont it ?
i know that if i buy a phone off ebay, it has to have Bell on it, because if it had, sprint or verison, i wouldnt be able to use it with my phone company.

i asked that question to the girl working at the phone company im with, and she said that as long as it has their name on it, its usable..
might be different other places though.

I'm so excited to preorder the iphone! I'm going to get a white one.. I love the double camera and I can't wait to use it for videochatting. My BF will be getting an iOS 4 too so we can do that. Anyone else preordering?

Btw.. I heard it was coming out for Verizon in August or so, from some other forum. Anyone know when they will be releasing the carriers besides AT&T that can carry iphone ios4?

A spokesman for Verizon stated last week that they have no plans in the "immediate future" to bring the iphone to their company. Who knows though...there are so many rumors swirling around.

I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to pre-order. If I do its a black 32G.

Noemie - The only way you could use the phone on another carrier is to get one and unlock it or "jail break" it. You can buy it already done but I am sure it will cost a pretty penny.

Ok so preorders for iphone 4 start on June 15 and the phone is released on the 24th of June. The 32G is $299. A massive drop in price compared to previous releases.

Does anyone have anymore info regarding the prices? I'm a little worried that the prices mentioned might be you know...a little too good. My Iphone (the very first one) broke a while ago and I'm thinking of replacing it with the new Iphone 4G but I really hope it isn't that expensive.

Those are from the Apple website.. definitely worth it! I mean an ipad with wifi + 3g is about $700 for 16gb. I'm def preordering a white 32gb.. switching over to ATT from T-Mobile though!

I can't seem to find anything about the price of the iPhone 4, on Pay & Go in the UK? Even though the price release is today.
Hopefully it's not too much, since I've just paid for a 3Gs replacement, about 2 month ago .

Here's one I found just after a brief search. It says it's made from real Argentinain cowhide & the price is reasonable if not cheap than I would think.

I've been swithering getting one for ages... and im really a bit of a technophobe... but I love the idea of being able to access all the aps and the net anywhere... just to fill in my time while im waiting about etc... what I would love to know form someone is... is there a TFS ap??? Can you brouse and post on TFS from one ok??? What are peoples thoughts???

Will I really love it and will it change my phone use as much as people say...

There is no tFS app. But Safari is crystal clear, and it shows up just as it does on a Laptop.
I use my iPhone 3Gs on the go, all the time for tFS, it really is fantastic for it.

So am I. I'm still on the fence on whether I should get one. Since the iOS 4 software update will be made available for the iPhone 3G and 3GS, I might hold on to my current iPhone for now.

I have to say I think the new model is simply hideously ugly compared to the iPhone 3. Stylistically, it is very similar to what e.g. Nokia channels in their phones, and I just don't like the flat, unremarkable harshness of the exterior. The smooth curves of the previous model was what set it apart visually from all the other touchscreen phones on the market at the time. Now it just looks like any other phone -- except more plastic.

I'm really hoping my 3G will last until Apple comes out with a better-looking model. Because that -- the iPhone 4 -- I do not want.

As an iPhone devotee, I would love to get the iPhone 4 but I can't afford it right now unless I change to a pay monthly contract. I'm currently on Orange and my pay-as-you-go white 16GB iPhone 3GS cost £440. I suppose I could sell it and then I could put the money towards the iPhone 4. But I don't know if it's really worth it... I'm going to wait and see if my dad ends up getting one (his company have provided him with an iPhone 2G and a 3GS in the past) and then I can try it for myself to see if there's any real difference...
And I'd like to read some reviews, too.

So I'm hopefully getting the new Iphone 4 on thursday, and I have a question.
Is it possible to sync all my current data onto my new Iphone? Like saved things in apps, pictures etc? I know I can transfer apps but i'd really love to have everything I saved on my new one too
