Apple's iPhone

That Mario theme is great! I don't have an iPhone yet but might buy the new one featuring 3G which will hit the stores in June. I don't like that the current one is crippled.

i have a question... my friends are going to US in june so i'm going to ask them to get me iphone there cause we don't have OFFICIAL iphones here in moscow... so what standard is it? GSM? won't there be any problems with it when i use it here in moscow?

is iphone provide full web browser and can do like ebay and paypal transaction?
i'm considering between this and a blackberry

TIA :)

^ yes, it does have a full web browser. it uses safari, the same as every mac does. :flower:

right, to everyone who is considering buying one now, i would suggest you wait. the next gen should come out June 9 - 13 to coincide with Worldwide Developers Conference.

prices have already started to drop for the current Gen in europe, as they are trying to get rid of the old stock before the 3g versions hits the stores. no price change in the US, but they have stopped shipping the current gen to stores as they were doing when they launched the iphone.

so wait...wait.:flower:

I want to do one of those themes. Im goiing to check out that site.

I just got the cutest Paul Frank rubber cover for my phone.

When someone changes their theme from modmyiphone (download section) please tell me how you did it....thanks so much!

Me too!

I looked at several sites about how to do it. I need someone to tell me in Enlglish (not geek computer talk). I couldnt understand what people are saying on the forums and they talk down to people who dont know so they are not very helpful.

I looked at Summerboard, and some other stuff and tried to do it from Safari on my phone as it suggested and nothing happened.

I downloaded a theme to my PC but dont know how to get it to the iphone. Can this be done through a PC.

Anyone....HELP!!

I've been checking out on how to change the theme,
and I heard it only works if your iPhone is hacked.

I definately don't want to hack my phone,
because I'm too scared that I'm going to mess up everything,
but for those brave souls out there if you want theme and other stuff you should hack your phone.

Anyways,
I heard the 2nd gen. of iPhone's screen will be a lot smaller and lighter.
which is odd cause i'd thought that the screen would get bigger.

yeah, mine is hacked. ^_^ i'm running 1.1.3
i would check it out, but my macbook just died on my a day ago, (the hard drive to be specific) and with it, most of my work

so until i get it back, i'm taking it today to the apple store, i'll post something in plain english.

i'm quite sure it has to be hacked, in order to run a third party application.

i doubt they would do the screen smaller.
the biggest change i foresee is a bigger hard drive on the phone, probably around 32 gigs. faster processor, and of course 3G. they should include a better camera while they are at it, and make it so that it can record video!!!

ah I wish I could hack mine but I don't know how to and I don't trust myself lol.. But idk in the macworld site or something to do with that said that the iPhone's screen will decrease in size and I'm thinking its cause they want to make the phone lightweight as possible because they're sending it off to Asia and most Asian countries have really lightweight phone and plus they would probably make the phone amazing because right now the first gen of iPhone is crap compared to the phone they have in Asia

Where did you hear this? If it's true I'm happy since then I wont wish I waited for a new one.

^I'm not sure the 2nd gen. will be too different. The whole idea of the iphone was that the software would be what changed not the hardware.

Here's a flickr group about iphones screenshots.

the 2nd generation of iphones is not going to be different. i've spoken to an apple rep about it. the only difference will be faster internet.

2nd gen of iphone flip i found on the net

Apple's iPhone launch caused a wave of excitement that even now refuses to die down. The company is now planning to ride on this with a "clamshell iPhone". Yes, "clamshell iPhone" which will be smaller -- likely half the size of the iPhone, but will take a couple of years to go to market.

A touch-screen patent first filed by Apple in the US in September 2006 has given birth to this speculation about Apple mulling a "clamshell iPhone". The patent application, which has been newly disclosed, contains illustrated features including a transparent dual-sided touch-sensitive trackpad cover; meaning the top of the iPhone is covered with a transparent touch panel which when opened reveals an also touch-sensitive inner side.

It also appears from the patent that the "clamshell iPhone" will enable users write in numbers and letters using their fingers. Meanwhile, the patent doesn't talk about any keyboard though it does imply that sensitive controls could be used to create a virtual keyboard.

The Apple iPhone has been available for less than a month, but already there are indications of a second-generation iPhone in the works. Taiwan's Wintek has been given touch-screen panel orders for this iPhone, according to reports published by Taiwan's Commercial Times.

The pricing? Apparently between US $249 and $299. While all these are still rumors, it will be interesting to see if the thing actually materializes. The current form-factor of the iPhone is not bad - it's easy on the eye and does not feel overly bulky in your hand.

Would this, in fact, turn out to be the iPhone nano that we keep hearing about? Time will tell. At least there's time till September.

I'm confused because the first and second pic show completely different phones (the screen on the second is itty bitty!), but either way I think I like my current larger screen better.

well...

the pics are obviously photo shopped and badly, at that i might say.

keep in mind, everything is still speculation. possibly every pic of the next iPhone will be a fake, as everyone is trying to get attention to their site.

yes including this one, it's not the new iphone. it's just a black case for the iphone that can be bought in HK, apparently. Apple is very secretive about their new releases. They actually pride themselves in it. especially with the iPhone. nothing else comes close.
I know, i know about korea and Japan. but the best phones from Korea and Jp, are better only because they are on a faster network, but the actual interface of their phones are lagging behind the iPhone. why do you think that every high end phone that LG, Samsung, Nokia release is labeled the iPhone killer? they are obviously trying to catch up, and they are getting better. but with the next gen, Apple will put definite space between itself and the copy cats.

from what i've been told by apple associates, the iphone is not going to change but if it does change to either of those designs... i am glad that i have my original 16gb iphone because those are ugly. :innocent: and that screen is so small! it would be hard to surf the net.
