It seems like strong, padded, architectural shoulder lines have gotten a big push this season, not just coats and jackets but also on dresses, blouses... seemingly ignited from last FW season's few appearances, notably the Martin Margiela show

i dont know if i really like this..and i think it is very hard to pull off in real life..
it looks great at ann sofie back however..it is subtle and crisp enough to still look beautiful imo..

oh, i love the new additions, esp at Sophia Kokosalaki, perhaps that's a lil more wearable...and the Roksanda Illincic 1st look I think she got the proportion and volume wrong but the 2nd look is simply gorgeous.....

I like the Sophia Kokosalaki jackets, but shoulders like that wouldn't look good on me because I already think my shoulders are too broad.

i sooo like this...
hope those stuff are gonna be styled in glamazon-warrior-graphic fashion stories!!!

you can see this trend in the Oct. issue of Vogue Italia, too...
the editorial is called Miss Shape... and is a very good editorial...
oh and of course in Vogue Paris styled by M.A Sauvé and with Sasha...

I really like YSL's take on this trend. Those are the only ones I would probably wear IRL. The rest are a bit too boxy and can easily make someone look like a linebacker!

that black ysl jacket is one of my favorites of the season, shame there wasnt much else in the collection that caught my eye

^I love the new additions from YSL, much more wearable indeed......I'm still not sure whether the Valentino frou frou sleeves are structural enough for a warrior woman

Some offerings from Haider Ackermann:heart: love how he pairs oversized padded blazers with fluid pieces, great balance

I watched Histoire du Style (on Arte - check the History thread in D&C) and it's "fun" because actually in the XXth Cent., the big shoulders were the fashion mark of the WWII... funny I don't know... does it mean we're back in War Time???
seeing the context we're living in, I think this historic statement is "fun"...heu i would say "interesting" actually... I don't know if "fun" is right word...

^^ My favorites from the bunch. You're right about the fluidity, makes it look not so stiff.

That's definitely an interesting observation Berlin, I'm gonna check out that video now..

This looks stupid on most of the models, which means that any normal woman will just look like a linebacker in these clothes.

I don't agree, I think it gives women a very strong and graphic silhouette and i always looved the xxl shoulders (épaulettes...)! Women look so confident with good built shoulders... and it gives your silhouette a great feeling...
It's sooo good, imo.
Pieters, Ann Sofie Back, Margiela and YSL are my favourites...
You really have to check Sasha by M.A Sauvé styling in recent Vogue Paris...
she's styled it very good...
and you can check a lot of vintage editorials...
That is a very strong reference for me in styling...

I'll post some vintage influences...
try it girls... I know it can sound very 80s, but honestly check M.A Sauvé and Sasha, they made it very contemporary....
sthg like post-bowie-berlin-graphic-gothic-rock style... sthg pretty dark, but really amazing!
There's a story with Erin Wasson, too...

look at this :
