Armpit hair: gross or sexy?

Has anyone noticed that wrestlers shave their underarm hair too.

But can you imagine if you got grabbed by the underarm hair and wrestled. Oww.


I'm not a huge fan of pit hair but on some people (mainly not that hairy and blonde people) it's ok. Can't say I liked the pictures on the first page but the main problem with them was that the rest of the person was perfectly groomed and the hair was being made a point of.

Personally, its gross to see women with body hair.

there's many other things your body produce that you mantain at a standard, just cause its hygene. Otherwise we'd be walking around with our finger nails and toenails down to hong kong and ear wax dripping down our necks.

Its just plain un attractive, and everybody is entitled to wear their armpit hair down to their knees if they want, dread it if you want, but to me, its unattractive.

Men, well, its fine with me, at a certain extent. Trim it, if you're insanely hairy back there, wax it. Legs its fine to be hairy, I personally shave them, just cause im gay like that. But I dont mind hairy legs on men.

Men have to look like men, women have to look like women, its not the caveman age anymore.

I agree with you ale. I think it's gross on women. Trimmed is good on men but I dont mind just leaving it either unless your super hairy.

When I was a kid, I had a friend with a very evil mother (seriously, think Cinderella's stepmother). Anyway, for some reason, she loved to humiliate my friend all the time (though she did not do this to her other children). One night I was over for dinner, and my friend, who was wearing a tank, reached across the table to grab some food. Her mother said something like, "You hairy little beast! I cannot believe you already have hair under your arms!" Then she proceeded to cut my friends armpit hair at the sink in front of everyone. This event scarred me for life, and I always always make sure I shave if I a wearing something sleeveless. I guess I do get grossed out when I see other women with hairy armpits too.

Personally I don't care if men have armpit hair, but on women: NOOOOOO!! Sorry! It's just too gross!!

I believe that hair should only be on your head, eyebrows and eyelashes.

and to whoever said that it has been "proven medically to be very unhygienic" - do you think you could show me the data?

i think people are confusing HYGIENE with HAIR GROWTH........there's a difference

What bothers me about this is people have been conditioned by the MEN in society who decided ages ago what is and is not attractive and therefore label it 'disgusting'. Like hair anywhere on the body, it's there to serve a purpose. It's not unhygenic to have it, it serves a purpose. Same as the hair on your eyelashes, heads, legs, etc. I don't find it attractive but I acknowledge it's because I've been conditioned to think that way. That said, I don't find it disgusting. It's a personal choice. who cares.

Well said! I've often heard that Gillette wanted to double their market, so they pushed their marketing towards shaming women into shaving. I love how those venus ads say that i'm somehow "empowered" like a Goddess when I shave my legs, when i actually feel like a slave to the shave.

What's wrong with Hong Kong? It's a fashionable city filled with beautiful people and the GDP is the 6th highest in the world.

yes the problem is that people quote you word for word
i am not only talking about aesthetics but personally finding it disgusting and i am sorry if it does offend anyone as it is not meant to but (we all have that hair!!) i am using this word as this is the first thing that comes to my mind when i am confronted with it.
so whether society has been brainwashed with marketing strategies to make the masses believe its not nice. even if tomorrow they said its sexy all over the news and kate moss was shown with it i still would find it appauling.
some here say "its only hair" but i am not referring to the "hair" bit (which is totally okay as i agree its "only" hair) but the fact that seeing that hair just "pop out" of someones underarm like a bad surprise...
its often unexpected..
