Yes I know, I'm Australian and I love supporting the Aussie designers out there, so I was just wondering if anyone else was interested!!

I really love what I've seen of her work...it's so beautiful and feminine without being nauseatingly so. She's really the only Aussie designer I know of. Anyone you recommend?

Collette has one dress, a beautiful silk halter with no back, thats been worn by both Mandy Moore (in an emerald green) and also Angelina Jolie (in an olive green) that I adore, so beautiful!

A few Australians get mention of course, but they're generally showing elsewhere.

All are welcomed (and ed ). In fact, I thought it was a travesty that our style.com made no mention of Collette Dinnigan's Paris show. Although it didn't hold together so well as a collection (this time!), there were so many pieces that were just lovely.

I've only just started getting interested in the whole fashion/style sort of thing, I never really used to be bothered, but now I realise the beauty and creativity that can be shown in fashion design, and I adore it!

I adore the Aussie designers because I'm very patriotic, and I think that they need to recognised across the fashion world!! Plus they are bloomin awesome!


Hopefully I can be an Australian influence around here, along with the other Aussie posters!

There are some great Australian designers I've seen at old issues of Oyster magazine, still I'm quite bad with names...

Please do update us on the topic Mara, I'm very interested in Australian design, they have a certain cool style but we don't get enough info on their work yet -on an international level

That is the website for the recent 'Mercedes Australian Fashion Week', unfortunately you need to be a member to view it, but its a simple registration process, so I recommend it!!

I suggest you look at the Morrissey (well known) collection, the Lisa Ho (a more well known designer) and the GWENDOLYNNE collection!

I like these collections: Prudence Todd, Nicola Finetti, Louise Phillips, Gwendolynne... and I stopped there for now after working my way up through the alphabet.

Will definitely check out the rest.

I'm not exactly the biggest fan of Australian fashion (bad me).. I think Tsubi and Sass and Bide is utter overkill.. but never the less. hey people still buy their stuff

Um don't know where you got this info from but it's not true. Karen's from NZ, lives there and show there and London. She has never claimed to be an Aussie.

I love Lisa Ho, Morrissey, and Alannah Hill. I like Wayne Cooper but sometimes he is just a huge Tom Ford knock-off.

What's happened to Marcs and Marcs Baby Doll. It use to be really nice stuff and now it feels like I'm walking into a Ralph Lauren Polo store. If I wan't Rl I'll go to RL.

Last time I was in OZ I went to a Bettina Liano store and the store assistants were such b*tches. They were saying "I don't know why people shop at other designers when Bettina is like the best" and giving us dirty looks so my friends and I just looked at them and walked out .

Mara is there any new designers out that you think are quite good so I can have a look at them when I go to OZ in July and do you know where they sell Kirrily Johnston?
