Ugly, tacky and ghetto. It's better than Spring 04 but what on earth isn't. I suppose there is a time and a place for this (South Beach comes to mind) but the local XXI Forever can take care of those needs for 1/4 of the price.
Or is this tripe even in stores? The Baby Phat merchandise that actually sells is jeans, tanks and hoodies, right? And that stuff you can find at Marshall's or Ross marked down.

My opinion is if mostly Af/Americans buy the line--it's automatically called 'ghetto'. At least thats how the term is used on this board.Originally posted by onehotgrrl+Feb 17th, 2004 - 4:31 pm--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(onehotgrrl @ Feb 17th, 2004 - 4:31 pm)</div><div class='quotemain'>Originally posted by Oria@Feb 17th, 2004 - 11:49 am

I certainly don't associate ghetto with this collection, in fact I have no clue what people mean when they say this![]()

ummm NO
oh I see well I guess I was struck dumb because I am from brasil and what I see as ghetto there is not what I see as ghetto in north america. it is still odd to me but thank you for enlightening me. i have read the term some times on here but didn't understand why people say that. thanks againOriginally posted by Oria+Feb 17th, 2004 - 4:35 pm--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Oria @ Feb 17th, 2004 - 4:35 pm)</div><div class='quotemain'>Originally posted by onehotgrrl@Feb 17th, 2004 - 4:31 pm

you did not just say that!!!
you are in so much trouble!!!

Sorry Oria- I should apologize. My answer was sarcastic actually. There can be many other terms used to describe clothes directed at an Urban market- but some people really like to throw out the word 'ghetto'- whether it applies to the situation or not. i guess you're one of those people...i thought this board was different...
I really did not mean to cause this issue i am often clueless to american slang so i do ask rather than take on the assumption. so i do not think you were being offensive or the other person who i asked the question to. maybe just different views is all. no trouble from me i still like one of the dresses from her collection haha. that does not change.Originally posted by onehotgrrl@Feb 17th, 2004 - 5:02 pm
No- I am not one of those people...I certainly didn't call the collection ghetto.
I see nothing ghetto about it. People on here think Kimora Lee is ghetto- so automatically that applies to her line I assume.
I also thought this board was different until others proved me wrong.
