well, balenciaga doesn't accept celebrities to their show to begin with, right? so i dont see why there is such a big commotion on kanye getting rejected by the house. just because it's kanye? so it is the press that is trying to give kanye more hype than he already have, not completely kanye making kanye sound big

I seriously don't get how he gets into so many shows. I mean, Vuitton I can definitely see, but YSL, Viktor and Rolf?

I hope it becomes the newest, hottest trend. I can't stand him, but it's funny when he tries to sound like he knows about fashion.

It's not that hard to get into the show when you are a celeb, and while I am not denying his arrogance, I really think he knows a thing or two about his designers. Also, he only goes to shows in Paris, so I think that says something, and compared to the celebs that haunt the shows in NY, I think he is far less worse in being there.

On another note, Versace did the same thing a few seasons, when Donatella wanted to focus solely on the clothes, because she felt people were only looking to Versace for music and celebs. They quietly denied several requests from high profile celebs as well, so this is nothing new.

Balenciaga isn't really a star show, it's more for actual people in the industry of fashoin. I suppose an exception would be made for a specific kind of celebrity like Chloe Sevigny...

I think Kanye does love fashoin and all the shows in Pari but this just wouldn't have happened for many people anyway.

And I agree about fewer celebs going to shows. They should just send their stylists and look online. Unless it gets the designer more press in a good way. Actually I think it depends on the celeb and the show and each one should be granted or denied on a case by case basis by the publicist or whoever distributes tickets.

I agree, celebrities have become annoying and are distracting. Just think of New York fashion week

I think he attended the SS07 show....along with Janet Jackson and the Olsen twins. Anyway, i really like the fact that he loves fashion so much and his personal style is quite good for a rapper.

To be frank, designer labels need as much exposure as possible so to be honest many labels need the support of the media and celebrities can give even though just because they are a celeb doesnt mean they should just get in, it is a two way street!

I don't think Kanye is tacky at all far from it he is very innovative and refreshing, and for a black rap star to take an interest in fashion i guess it has to be labelled tacky for many people, anyway i dont judge because everyone has their own perception of style.
I think that balenciaga can do whatever they like and its true what kanye said they probably wanted the focus on their clothes maybe he would have detracted that focus hes not being arrogant its probably true and he does get mobbed.

Its hilarious that they use his song Flashing Lights and then deny him entry, i personally think that just shows you know "we will use your music! but we certainly dont want your face pictured here thank you very much" interesting........

Kanye is ridiculous at times, but I think it's f*cked up that a lot of people on TFS always automatically consider Hip Hop artists tacky, especially when you look at how much the genre has influenced the world of fashion.

i was just going to say,doesn't the irritatingly outward olsen twins always go....charlotte gainsbourg,kylie minogue,chloe sevigny....didn't sarah jessica parker often attend....and wasn't jennifer connelly there being that she's the new face of balenciaga???? i'm not defending this guy(god knows,fashion could do well without another overrated ego-maniac celeb)but its so hypocritical to disallow one famous person and then in turn let another one in. but maybe it's merely bias....perhaps,they're just not fans of his?? perhaps they're sexist?

say what you will about Kanye personally, but he and his fiancee spend a lot of money on high fashion and its a little dumb of Balenciaga (who have problems selling their excessively high priced clothing as it is) to deny him. He is one of the few people that can afford to buy the stuff.
