Balmain F/W 13.14 Paris

At first I felt like what Christophe's created didn't suit with the price of Balmain. Therefore, I feel like Olivier would be perfect as he would focus on detail and luxurious. After several season I missed Christophe. This is not Balmain that I used to like and admire. It's overwhelmed with his design and over accessorized with fabric and detail.

Christophe's hole t-shirt sold out at full price, while Olivier's embroidered dress is still selling at 80% off on Outnet

When Olivier started for Balmain, I wanted him to step out of Christopher`s silhouettes and have a look of his own, which he did here. But somehow, that fell out of proportion. This collection is all over the place. It`s an overkill. There`s too much going on with the looks and together they look disastrous. I always look forward to Balmain shows but this, this might be my turning point. I didn`t like a single look and I wanted it to be over. I may sound exaggerated but it`s how I feel. His past shows were okay, some looks were excellent but it`s not the same as before.

I miss Decarnin. His last few collections might have been repetitive but they were on point. The collection knows were it should go. It had a certain LOOK it wants to instigate.

Although, I`m not saying that Olivier can`t improve. There`s always room for improvement and I think it`s just one of his bad collections. Hopefully this will be the last? I don`t know

I like the warrior silhouette....a lot. But there are some rather ghastly outfits here, there's no denying that. Still, this feels like it hits the mood of the times somehow...if there could only be a more elegant version of this.

They look like men with those cuts and design. Unflattering at all

this is actually a real guilty pleasure for me. The shapes are dated, but I just can't help myself loving the colours and the metallics, even some of the silhouettes. Even though it's like costume, it's a factor I kinda like about the collection.

I love the color palette and the fabrics used, but c'mon Olivier snap out of it! If anything, he just played it safe (like majority of the designers this season). Fantastic separate pieces but I'm so over the zoot suits and the 80s galore.

This is terrible, that all gold outfit is truly heinous. And the looks with the red skirts oh my god

So am I the only one who likes this?

No. I like it too. So what if its 80s, nothing except the 00s is "dated". I cant say what it is really but the warrior-meets Arabian nights works for me. I have a thing for flamboyant androgeny.

80s not my favorite era.Sorry.and collection is not very impressive.Need a change Balmain.

I hated this collection. And the one thing, the one thing, I wanted was Olivier's final bow, because he is just so friggin sexy. THAT DIDN'T EVEN HAPPEN.

I love this collection I seriously do  I love the whole 80's meets The Future thing, that's why I love Alexandre Vauthier....

Can we not with the "bring back Decarnin"? Such proclamations are pointless. After all, he was getting lots of hate for his latest collections.

I love everything except jacket's, which are just no-go.
