What are some of the best live performances you've seen?

It could be a sensational voice, choreography or anything else music related I guess?!

Show us some vids...B)

I absolutely love Lady GaGa's performance (Paparazzi) on MTV Video Music Awards 2009.
And most of her performances are amazing.

Madonna, Britney & Christina at the 2003 VMAs.  You cannot deny it.

^ I loved Beyoncé's performance at this year's VMAs. She was phenomenal!

Muse and Radiohead have some of the best live performances. also Metric,Tool and Metallica!

very early performance of utopia-

w/ uber maestro zeena parkins

and i've always adored this performance-

(don't know how to embed videos...)
The Flaming Lips had a free concert in San Diego over the summer and they gave a phenomenal live performance similar to this one. The energy during "do you realize?" when everyone started singing together was awesome.

haven't seen them live (unfortunately :( ) but Kasabian are undoubtedly one of the greatest live performers out there.

The Greatest Performances Ever

Guys, I was searching for videos for a work I'm doing at school about The Best Singers Ever, and I found some very good videos of some singers singin their a** off in some amazing performances, and I don't know why but I found it very entertaining to watch these videos at YouTube so I decided to create this thread so I could share this amazing videos I found (probably they won't be new for some of you  ) and probably see more great videos that you guys post!

5. Amy Winehouse, Take The Box (Mercury Prize): This video is so great, her voice is perfect, she looks health, and that high note she does in the end is P-E-R-F-E-C-T-I-O-N

4. Christina Aguilera, At Last (Stripped Tour): This was the video that made me like her, I'm really not a fan of her songs, and even in the begining of the video she annoys me a little bit (she exagerates to much with her voice), but what she does at 2:25 is so incredible, I mean, who can hold a note for 20 seconds  even my made was shocked when I showed her this video! :D

3. Whitney Houston, I Will Always Love You (Grammy 1994): I don't like her at all, not even after I saw this video, but come on, she kills it!

2. Mariah Carey, Emotions (MTV Unplugged): Mariah is perfection here, the high notes, the way she growls, the energy, everything is perfect, she looks so natural and perfect, this performance is truly amazing!

1. Christina Aguilera, It's a Man Man Man's World (Grammy 2007): This performance is shocking, I really never thought in my whole life that a person could sing so amazingly, even James Foxx in the end looks shocked, Christina IMO gives the best performance a person (male or female) can ever give!

I  your stanning for Christina.

I agree. The Mans Mans World Grammy performance was supposed to be performed by a male vocalist but in the end they went with Christina. The following day she shut her haters up and everyone raved about her performance and went as far as naming her as The Godmother of Soul.

I think this is a better version, it's longer and you can actually the audience's reaction longer.

I'm so happy you posted Christina Aguilera. To me she's hands down the best female vocalist of all time :ninja:

I have some favorites as well but I need some time to think this through and will post them later :D Awesome idea for a thread, though!

Janelle Monae live at David Letterman, just amazing, I'm stunned!

I'd love to post some vids, but you know, in A LOT of great performances, there is the people singing as a background and really ruins the whole live thing...

First lady of song. Audience is so hipnotized you could hear a pin hitting the floor. Probably the most haunting interpretation Ella ever gave to Summertime. It's just... untoppable.

^ That's gorgeous, Festat, thanks for sharing.

I'm trying to pick one favorite performance by Jeff Buckley but it's tough! I wish I had been old enough to attend one of his shows.. you can only imagine while looking at these videos what an inspiring experience it must've been.. he had such a powerful and emotional voice.
I love this one.. and he looks quite handsome there too.

And the entire set of his performance in Chicago in 1995.

The best live performance I have ever seen though, was this:

Not only I was there and was my first time seeing Radiohead but it was also such a mind-blowing show, I still get goosebumps every time I see bits of it.. the video doesn't do it any justice, I wish I could find a better one.. (this was in 2003 and security was tight hence the lack of good videos!).

I’ve wanted to do this for a while. I narrowed it down to my three favorites. I could post dozens of performances by Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys, Kings of Leon, etc because they're always amazing live but for my Top 3 I picked the performances that were most memorable and outstanding to me.

3.
Bon Iver – Skinny Love Live on Later with Jools Holland
There just aren’t enough love performances of Bon Iver (or Justin Vernon for that matter) on YouTube but this one is beautiful enough to be amongst my very favorites

2.
Tamia – You Put A Move On My Heart Live @ Quincy Jones Celebration 1995
One of the most underrated artists. Tamia’s an AMAZING vocalist. I don’t like all of her own songs but her voice is just too brilliant. She was 19 years old at this performance, btw. PERFECTION.

1.
Thomas Godoj - Chasing Cars Live @ DSDS Season 5 Finale
It's sort of embarassing that my #1 is a casting show performance but this is just amazing on so many levels. That guy has the most beautiful voice and he is so charming. He won the 5th season of Germany's version of 'American Idol' some years ago. Love it so much.

I saw Rammstein in 1994 opening for KISS, their set was short but OMG such an spectacular show! even if you don´t like their music, it was very entertaining :)
