Best Self-Tanners

I tried the L'oreal sublime glow (day 3 now) but so far, no change in skin tone. It's rather like moisturizer with tons of glitter in it so when i apply it, all i see are sparkly bits. Hopefully the tanner part will kick in after a few more applications!

Best fake tan for a guy?

Hey everyone,

I've been wanting to use a fake tan/self tanner to brighten up my pale winter skin for a while but have a bit of a dilemma..there is too much choice! I went ahead and bought some St Tropez whipped bronze, the colour came out great, not orange, a good brown BUT I have stubble and the mousse just made that area patchy. I need something that can go over stubble and not come out in patches. I have had 2 recommendations of Loreal Sublime Bronze gel but wanted some other opinions so that I don't waste more money!

Thanks :flower:

Jergen's face natural glow lotion works well. I have never used it, but it gets good reviews :) Just make sure you get the one for face and not body so you don't break out ;)

Clarins Liquid Bronze L.A. Trash! They have the very best self-tanners. Apply the day you shave so your skin is smooth and exfoliate before shaving so the color wont come out patchy. No to L'Oreal. They're cheap. Use Clarins.

Hey guys,

I tried Loreal Sublime Bronze (that was before I read the other reccomendations!) and I also went out and bought the new st tropez daily moisturiser. Both actually looked pretty good on my skin, the st tropez in particular, BUT I still have that problem with stubble! GRRR!

I never shave fully so I always have some stubble on my face, I have tried applying the tan in the opposite direction to the stubble, in the same direction, and of course I exfoliate and moisturise before I apply it. It is particularly noticable in 'moustache' area LOL, the other stubbley areas seem ok.

Does ANYONE have ANY tips about how I can stop getting that orange patch between my nose and lip? I'm thinking next time I just wont apply it there and risk having a white patch, I have black stubble so it might not be so noticable and it would look a whole lot more natural!

any advice?

I just tried the new Chanel bronzing gel today. It gave me a great color on my face. But its not a tanner, after you wash your face the color is gone. But it's easier to control the color, add more, or wash away if it looks bad.

I just bought Clarins Liquid Bronze for the face and decolette and it is nice, I like it a lot! It smells really good and it gives an instant glow when it goes on...then deepens over the next few hours. It is a liquid and it smells like lavendar...much nicer than most self tanners! I didn't break out from it either, and I have sensitive skin. It it applied with a cotton ball and you just brush it over your face, neck and decolette.

One note though...it has the same ingredient that Mystic Tan and airbrush tanners have...that makes any freckles appear a bit darker. I found this went away after one day though and I was left with a nice natural glow!

have you tried applying a good thick layer of moisturiser to your upper lip before putting on fake tan? It should dilute the effects of the tanner...that's what you're supposed to do for your elbows, knees, ankles etc. (any area tanner tends to gather)

what is the best self tanner for legs? clarins, chanel or lancome. has anyone tried these on your legs, do they work without coming off on clothes?

I went to go check out tanning lotions @ the store today, as I wasn't very happy with the Jergen's lotion I had previously tried, & this lady noticed me looking & told me that her daughter swore by this particular product. It's by Malibu & it's called "Hemp golden glow skin firming bronzing moisurizer." I decided to buy it since she seemed to be so stoked over it. I plan on trying it tomorrow. Also, one plus about it is that it doesn't smell like dirty socks like most tanning creams do. I'm hoping it works!

I'm naturally tanned..but my leg are wayyyy lighter than my face and upper body
So I thought about buying a self tanner for legs..
Anyone has a suggestion?
Clarins seems te be popular?

See you're the opposite of me-my face does NOT tan. I started using the True Blue Spa (available at Bath and Body Works) Glow and Steady for face, which is an SPF 15 moisturizer with gradual tanner. I already am noticing a difference and now I have to buy the body counterpart in order to make sure that my skin tans also!

have anyone tried the new dove self tanner? Someone whom I work with uses it, and she has the most amazing 'tan' going on right now! Does anyone ekse have an experience with it?

I am currently using it, and it is tha bomb! seriously, it is really great, and gives a natural, bronzy tan! nooot in love with the smell, but I put it on in the evening, and I shower in the morning, so its really no prob at all!

Any feedback about MODELCO's Tan In A Can, particularly about the translucent formula (as far as I know, there's translucent and there's the regular one)? Thanks. :)

Lately I've been using the Dove lotion on my body, and the Kiehls tanner on my face. Perfect combo for me.

Does anyone use or has used fake bake? In paticular the new fake bake gold stuff? I have heard it is good in a magazine but I don't know, its quite pricey and I would rather hear from other people who have used it.

saint tropez is truly the best, most natural and you get the most for your money.
doesn't stink either and a breeze to apply.

I quite like piz buin it is what I am using now. But it isn't mine and my mum will probably want it back soon. So I was just on the lookout for some new one.
