Dresses look chic

Bahl teamed a long, embellished, mud-green jacket with a beige, free flowing dress; the dress had a tulle sheath on top and a little frill at the neckline.
Can you wear this? We'd love to don both these garments; they look chic and comfortable to wear.

Classic hairstyles make a comeback

Most of the dresses seemed to have two layers, like this one sported by Jessae Randhawa. The outer layer made of georgette was bunched up over a bright fuchsia lining.
Don't miss the gelled-back hairstyle, with a few stray wisps of hair framing the face perfectly.
Can you wear this? A pretty, feminine dress that's definitely wearable.

Cowl necklines go south

A not-so-simple dress with an asymmetrical hemline and what resembled a cowl, a feature usually associated with necklines, on the sides. The cowl ran right through the collection as Bahl used it for skirts, blouses and dresses.

Shorts: Try the balloon effect
September 1, 2006
We liked the effect of these golden shorts with a subtle sheen by young designer duo Shantanu & Nikhil.
Their collection seemed to mark a return to innocence and used lots of balloon silhouettes.

A return to innocence
Aug 30, 2006
Children love balloons. And, maybe designer duo Shantanu & Nikhil do too.

Their latest collection uses lots of balloon-silhouettes, creating a childlike, cherubic quality through cuts, colours and fabric.
The make-up lent a doll-like innocence to faces on the ramp. And, we spotted some pretty ballerina shoes too. Here, we see model Deepika Padukone wearing a dull gold ensemble; a knee-length pleated skirt with an embroidered waistband and strapless top.

Model Jasmeet Randhawa sports a Rohit Bal creation in off-white and gold. Would you like a pixie-haircut to go with it?

Glide in a pair of ballet shoes
August 31, 2006
We spotted lots of stylish ballet-like flats at this Fashion Week.

Model Deepika Padukone looks comfy in this scintillating blue pair in the picture. They are available in stores and at your local fashion street in a rainbow of colours. Some look dressier with sequins and embroidery. The bottomline: They exude casual chic and are best worn with skirts, shorts and capris.

Drape your neck (or waist)
August 31, 2006
This pretty neckpiece doubles up as a waistband too. It is constructed using two or three cords, which can be loosely strung around one's neck or waist, as you like it.
We like the way the beads look, suspended in mid-air.

Retro makeovers for your mane
August 31, 2006
The headband in the picture from designer Jattinn Kochhar's collection has a 50s look about it. So, when you get tired of your scrunchy or hairclips, bunch up your hair with a bandana or scarf.
It looks great for a party. Or Sunday brunch.

When stilettos meet pumps, you get a sexy pair of heels like the one is this picture from Jattinn's collection. Just make sure the heel is sturdy and that the finish is good.

Slinky is out, chunky is in for both bangles and necklaces, like this piece -- again from Jattinn's collection.
